    Process for getting all SMS formats

    Send RAIL to 5676714:

    Response:

    For Normal ticket booking format send , for Tatkal booking format send

    to 5676714 from your registered mobile no.

    Process for getting SMS format for normal train ticket booking

    The user needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double quotes):

    START IRCTC_USER_ID

    This will also authentic the user id which is needed for the first time only.

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Send booking SMS to 5676714 as:BOOK

    FrmStnCode,ToStnCode,DDMMYY,TrnNo,Class,PsngrName1,Age1,M/F,PsngrName2,Age2,M/F,PsngrName3,Age3,M/F,PsngrName4,Age4,M/F

    Process for getting User Authenticated

    In case the user has not authenticated his/her user_id and sent the Booking SMS directly, then the

    user would get the following response:

    Sorry, We rcvd Error: Only registered, authorized IRCTC users can use this system. To authorize, plz

    send SET IRCTC_User_ID to 5676714 from your registered mobile no.

    The user then needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double quotes) from

    his/her registered mobile number:

    Process for getting station code

    The user needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double quotes):

    STATION

    User has to type atleast first 3 characters of the station name in order to get a response

    For example:

    Station mumb

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Station Enquiry details are MUMBAI CENTRAL(BCT),MUMBAI CST (CSTM)

    Process for getting train numbers

    In order to get the details of trains between two stations on a given date of journey, the user needs to

    send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double quotes) , where DDMMYY is the

    date of journey:

    TRAIN FmStnCode,ToStnCode,DDMMYY

    For example:

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Steps for booking train tickets through SMS

    Step 1 For booking a ticket

    Booking normal ticket, user needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double

    quotes):

    BOOK

    FrmStnCode,ToStnCode,DDMMYY,TrnNo,Class,PsngrName1,Age1,M/F,PsngrName2,Age2,M/F,Psngr

    Name3,Age3,M/F,PsngrName4,Age4,M/F

    For example:

    BOOK NDLS,ALD,280313,12418,SL,varun,23,m,ezaz,23,m,priyanka,24,f,sukhbir,25,m

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    book ticket.

    Step 2 For booking a ticket

    To proceed for booking the ticket, user needs to make payment by sending SMS to 5676714 as per the

    following format (without double quotes):

    PAY TransactionID, or

    The user can pay either through IMPS or through mWallet

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Steps for Cancellation of train ticket through SMS

    Step 1 For cancelling a ticket

    To partial/full cancellation, the user needs to send an SMS to 5676714 as per following format

    CANCEL PNR_no.,PsngrSr.Nos.

    The user needs to type PNR no. followed by serial no. of the passenger whose ticket needs to be

    cancelled. Not mentioning any serial number would mean full cancellation of the ticket.

    For example

    CANCEL 5612345567,2,4

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Cancelling EZAZ,SUKHBIR. Please send SMS YES 5612345567,2,4 to 5676714

    Step 2 For cancelling a ticket

    To confirm the cancellation, the user needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format

    (without double quotes):

    YES 5612345567,2,4

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Your Ticket is successfully cancelled. Refund Amt:xxx.xx. You shall receive the refund in your a/c

    within next 3-4 working days.

    Process for getting PNR status of a booked train ticket

    The user needs to send SMS to 5676714 as per the following format (without double quotes):

    PNR PNR_No.

    For example:

    PNR 5612345567

    SMS response for the above example will be:

    Ticket booking details are PNR: 5612345567, TRAIN: 12418, DOJ: 28/03/2013 NDLS to ALD, Psngr1
