Promila Grover, President. Smt Shashi Azad, Chairperson of BVP (Zone III) was the Chief Guest. Others who graced the stage were Shri D N Grover, Chief Advisor, Shri B L Parashar, Advisor and Shri I. D. Ojha, Former National President, BVP. The event was attended by most of the branches of Delhi State South, which showed the enthusiasm of the various branches to interact with their seniors for a mid-terms review. Programme began with recitation of Vande Mataram'. A two minute silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls who were associated with BVP, Delhi State South.In the meeting dates and venues for State Level Bharat Ko Jano and National Group Song Competition were announced. President, Smt. Promila Grover in her address to the gathering mentioned that except couple of branches no other branch is sending its monthly report to State Office. It was emphasized that all branches must send their monthly reports to the State without fail. She also requested branches to deposit State and Centre share against membership fee collected immediately. A meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Bharat Vikas Parishad (Delhi State South) was

thheld on 19 September, 2015 at Shri Ram Mandir, C-3 Block, Janakpuri under the Chairmanship of Smt. Promila Grover, President. Smt Shashi Azad, Chairperson of BVP (Zone III) was the Chief Guest. Others who

graced the stage were Shri D N Grover, Chief Advisor, Shri B L Parashar, Advisor and Shri I. D. Ojha, Former National President, BVP. The event was attended by most of the branches of Delhi State South, which showed the enthusiasm of the various branches to interact with their seniors for a mid-terms review.

Programme began with recitation of Vande Mataram'. A two minute silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls who were associated with BVP, Delhi State South.In the meeting dates and venues for State Level Bharat Ko Jano and National Group Song Competition were announced. President, Smt. Promila Grover in her address to the gathering mentioned that except couple of branches no other branch is sending its monthly report to State Office. It was emphasized that all branches must send their monthly reports to the State without fail. She also requested branches to deposit State and Centre share against membership fee collected immediately.

A detailed discussion was held in relation with Dental Van which is being run as a project of BVP, Delhi State South for the last many years. Smt. Promila Grover, Shri D N Grover, Shri B L Parashar, Convenor Shri V K Malhotra, Smt Shashi Azad & Shri K R Rama Moorthy participated in the discussion. In the meeting it was decided to present a proposal for procuring new dental van to Central Office for their assistance and dispose of the existing van in a month or so in view of its present working condition.

A BLOCK JANAK PURI BRANCH

During the course of the meeting, some office bearers of certain branches mentioned that since their branches have grown in number of members it has become difficult for them to keep 'Sampark' intact, in the absence of which they are finding it difficult to disseminate the BVP philosophy. Shri B L Parashar and Shri H R Bharija endorsed this view. Shri V K Malhotra, President, B Block Janakpuri mentioned that the branch has in principle decided to split their branch into two

stwith effective from 1 April, 2016. He further mentioned that a formal resolution to this effect will be sent to the State authorities very soon.

Smt. Shashi Azad, Chairperson of BVP (Zone III) mentioned th

that a Zonal Level meeting is scheduled to be held on 26 September, 2015 to spread awareness and to involve more retired IAS /IPS and other high profile individual to carry out the BVP philosophy. Members were requested to provide a list of such individuals either to State or to Zonal Office bearers.

The meeting ended with Vote of Thanks and by reciting National Anthem.

Ghewar with sets of bangles & Bindis were distributed to all ladies present. Programme was organlsed and anchored by Smt. Shashi Azad, President GRWA and Chairperson BVP. The whole evening was full of fun and entertainment. BVP Alaknanda branch organised a fun filled evening with

rdSenior Citizens of Gangotri Apartments on 23 AUG'15. Smt Shashi Azad spoke about the activities of BVP. Many people showed interest to join BVP. Dr Rama Kakkar gave a talk on health challenges faced by Senior citizens. Tambola prizes were sponsored by BVP. Tulsi plants were distributed to all present. Program was followed by dinner.

unanimously resolved to bifurcate itself into 2 with

Dharm Marg as the dividing line.

B Block Janakpuri Branch has been regularly

organizing Essay Writing Competition and

Elocution ( Declamation) Contest among

schools falling in our area. This year, too,

these competitions were organized.

This competition thwas held on 11 August, 2015 in the premises of Modern Era

Convent, B-1, Janakpuri. The topic was: CHALLENGES BEFORE

THE NATION- focus: EDUCATION. 25 Children participated.

They were allowed to write in Hindi or English for 45 minutes.

The result was as follows:

While certificates of participation were given to all, trophies

and Certificates for the winners were sent to their respective

schools. thwas held on 13 August at

Shri Shiv Shakti Sanatan Dharm Mandir, BA/BB Block,

Janakpuri in which 26 students took part. The subject was

CHALLENGES BEFORE THE NATION- focus: HEALTH. Dr. H.R.

Sharma and Shri H.C. Batra, both eminent educationists,

were the judges.

The result was a Clean Sweep by Andhra School. All the 3

prizes were bagged by Andhra School students. The winners

were:

Certificates were distributed among all the participants

whereas trophies and certificates were awarded to those

who occupied top positions.

needy persons whose cases were certified by DDU Hospital.

The Branch organized a Vishal Sewa th

Shivir on 28 September, 2015 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in

which following items were given away to the downtrodden

and needy:

Wall Clocks: 15 nos.,Television

set, Utensils for kitchen for the

poor: ( Rs. 5560). The T.V. was

donated by Capt. Wazir Chand of BA Block Janakpuri.

· Aashirwad ( an NGO devoted to the cause of mentally

weak children): Stationery items (Rs. 5800)

· Inspiration: (an NGO devoted to the mentally deranged

in which nearly 300 children

and handicapped participated,

Dental Van: 4 camps were held

in August and five in September

in which about 40 & 54 persons

benefitted respectively. 4 were

counseled for de-addiction.

Free Medical Consultation: Free Medical consultation was

continued with the help of Dr. Rakhi Saxena, every Sunday in

both the months. 54 & 52 patients were examined in August

& September, respectively.

Daan Peti: Clothes and other items collected through Daan

Peti were cleared by FOD and GOONJ regularly.

Katha: Religious Katha continued every Day( 4.30 to 5.30

p.m.) at the residence of out President Shri V.K. Malhotra.

celebrated by the Mahila Members of the

branch on 20.08.2015 in Geeta Mandir under

Mahila Sehbhagita project. Nearly 80 ladies

families numbering about 200.

Ten senior members who attained

the Golden Age of 80 in this year, were honoured with

shawls and gifts & bouquets by Sh. S.K. Wadhwa and other

dignitaries in the meeting among loud cheers of the

audience.

Birthday of 21

members born in the month of September was also

celebrated with Pooja by Pandit Ji and blessings of 200

members present in the meeting.

A sewing machine was given to a poor & needy

school girl who is assisting her widow mother in up bringing

her family comprising of 3 small brothers and sisters. This girl

has been trained in our swing centre.

the schools) were also given help in the shape of school bags

and study material costing Rs. 600 each to economically

weak students. Two office tables and 5 chairs for teachers

were also given to these schools on their demand. A sum of

Rs. 45000/- was spent on this programme in both the schools

with donation from our members.

120 members and other residents assembled at R-Block park to celebrate Independence day with flag hoisting by Shri K.S. Bhandari. Tulsi plants, kadi plants and few other plants were distributed to the

members and others d u r i n g t h e e v e n t . Sweets was served to all.

BVP GK-1 Branch celebrated Haryali Teej in the temple in GK Enclave – 1. This function is organized when Parvati wanted to wed Lord Shiva. She put on green and red colored clothes, bangles, kumkum, and other ornaments to enchant Lord Shiva. On this day, young girls keep fast to marry the groom of their choice. Married women go to their parents where they are given the choicest gifts and Sandhera. As is customary it was celebrated with bhajans and dance by many talented ladies. It concluded with packets of sweets as Prasad to all.

The branch celebrated the same in 4 schools, all these functions were held in the morning assemblies respectively. It started with morning prayer, Cultural dance programs which were very pleasant and entertaining. It was followed by welcome address by the

SOLO DANCE COMPETITION

Guru Vandan-Chhatra Abhinandan (GVCA)

A Solo Dance Competition was organized on 8th August in Columbia Junior School, F Block in the evening. More than 40 children from different schools participated in it enthusiastically.The competition started with Vande Matram followed by slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and

lamp lighting. It was a well - organized show as the selection of Patriotic, Folk, Classical and Semi- Classical songs was brilliant. This was indeed a great p l a t f o r m t o p r o v i d e a n opportunity to expose them to such an environment where in they learn the values based on Indian Culture and heritage. Smt. Mradula Shah (Kathak Dancer) Smt. Tripti Kalra (Bharatnatyam Dancer) and Shri Pulkit Jain ( Kathak Dancer) were the judges for this special occasion. Shri B.L. Parashar, Shri K.B. Mahajan, Shri M.K. Wadhwa and Shri Karamvir Shekhar, graced the occasion by their benign presence. It was indeed a grand show, widely appreciated by everyone.

TREE PLANTATION CEREMONYTree Plantation Ceremony was organized in a government school of Vikas Puri on 3rd August 2015. Plants and saplings were arranged from the nursery. Sh. Karamveer Shekhar,

Smt. Deepshikha Dandu, Smt. Renu Kaul, Smt. Sheetal Gosain graced the o c c a s i o n b y d e v o t i n g t h e i r v a l u a b l e t i m e . Students prepared beautiful posters, p a i n t i n g s a n d

placards to spread the message of Environmental Protection. It was indeed a very special occasion as the students took the pledge to nurture the saplings sown by them. Such programmes should be an integral part of society to make everyone aware about the need and importance of trees in our lives.Cancer Awareness Camp and Krisnotsav: A free medical camp was organized by the branch on 12th Sep. 2015 at Columbia Foundation Sr. Sec. School. Doctors from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute were present. They gave a talk on awareness, early detection and prevention of cancer. They examined about 140 patients. Oral screening by ENT doctor and Pep Smear & Clinical breast examination was done by Dr. Indu Aggarwal. Residents of the area took advantage of the camp.Krisnotsav was celebrated by Divya Jyoti, Sur, Sangam, Sangeet Vidyalaya in order to save the patients from boredom of waiting in the queue. Smt.
