Introduction

Endoscopes

Endoscopy meanslooking inside

Typically refers tolooking inside thebody for medicalreasons using anendoscope.

Endoscopes areinserted directly intothe organ

Introduction

Endoscopes

An endoscope can consist of * A rigid or flexible tube* A light delivery system to illuminate the organ or objectunder inspection.* a lens system transmitting the image to the viewer from theobjective lens to the viewer, typically a relay lens system in thecase of rigid endoscopes or a bundle of fiberoptics in the caseof a fiberscope

* An eyepiece* An additional channel to allow entry of medical instrumentsor manipulators

Introduction

Endoscopes - arthroscope

Arthroscopy (also called arthroscopic surgery) isa minimally invasive surgical procedure in whichan examination and sometimes treatment of

damage of the interior of a joint is performedusing an arthroscope, a type of endoscope thatis inserted into the joint through a smallincision.

Arthroscopic procedures can be performed eitherto evaluate or to treat many orthopedicconditions including torn floating cartilage, tornsurface cartilage, ACL reconstruction, andtrimming damaged cartilage

Discussion

In periradicular surgery, the best possibleintraoperative visualization and the use of contemporary techniques and instruments arenecessary to obtain a high level of success.

Endoscopy has been reported to provide thesurgeon with outstanding vision and ease of use.

Endoscopic surgery is also useful for identifyingand removing apical lesions under the maxillarysinus mucosa.

In both described cases, the lesions wereremoved completely without tooth extraction, and the wound healed without any postoperativecomplications such as infection or bleeding

CONCLUSION

These surgical techniques using

endoscopes are minimally invasive andreliable procedures that provide limitedincision and bone removal and respectthe integrity of the maxillary sinus.
