Procedure to Shutdown ZTE MSCe and MGW.

1. Backups :

1.1 Configuration Backup from Netnueman in MSCe and MGW OMM Server.1.2 Authentication Backup in Netnueman in MSCe1.3 IP Backup from Netnueman in MSCe and MGW1.4 Back up all IP’s relate to MSCe,MGW, Billing Server-1&2,LIM 249 by giving command:

ipconfigconfig all.1.5 Security variable Backup in MSCe and MGW1.6 SQL Backups in MSCe and MGW1.7 Current Alarms: To check any Hardware alarm on system before powering off, if any Hardware is

and MGW OMM server ,EMS Server: There should not be any alarm in any Server / Hard Disk.1.11 Backup Billing CDR’s in M:/Billhome/CDR/normal; MS, MR & MT Folders & also backup

C:/zxhome(includes all config files).1.12 Backup ETSIFTPBAK(for IRI/CRI files) & mnsvr_6_249(config files) folders in LIM

Server.Also take latest SQL backup under LIM Server path: D:/SQLBackup.

2. Shutdown Process for MSCe Server Rack:

2.1 Re-ensure that all the Configuration Data is saved through the “Daily Maintenance Window” through GUI.

2.2OMM Server:

a.) Close the network Management server software on the network Management servere.The operation is as follows: on the server console,select the menu Operation>Stop ums and then select the menu System>exit

b.) Close the SQL database on the network management server.the operation is as follows: Enter the SQL server management studio window, right-click the server and then select disconnect.

c.) Close the WINDOWS operating system and Shutdown the server

2.3Similarly Shutdown the LIM Server and ensure to exit all the running softwares on desktop. Do Unplug the Power and LAN cables

2.4Billing Server:

a.) We have Billing Server-1 and Billing server 2. Firstly, Push all the active Cluster resources to Billing server-2 and check whether all the resources got active on Billing server-2. Next, close all the running cluster resources, billing software, SQL


on Billing server-2 and close the WINDOWS operating system and finally Shutdown the server.

b.) Check whether all the Cluster resources got active in Billing server-1,if not please wait for few seconds or make the resources active forcibly and follow the same procedure to shutdown the Billing server-1 as mentioned above point(a).

c.) Do Unplug the Power and LAN cables after complete the above two points(a&b).

2.5Shutdown the Switches/Routers placed in Server rack and unplug the power cables.2.6Rare view of Power distribution panel

Here, plug out only 1,2,3 & 7. Remaining 4, 5 & 6 should be plug out in next Step(2.8)

2.7Now,Power off Power Supply A placed at front end of the Power distribution panel and then Power off Power Supply B.

2.8Remaining 4, 5 & 6 should be plug out

3. Shutdown Process for MSCe Service Rack:


Overview of the Service Cabinet of MSCe.

3.1 Plug out Fan unit one by one before shutdown the service Rack.


3.2 Plug out all the Service boards from shelf without OMP Board First Remove all boards from shelf-3 Then Remove all boards from shelf-1

3.3Plug out all the Service boards from shelve (having OMP Board) Remove all boards except OMP board from this shelf Then Remove the OMP boards from shelf

(Note :For example ,in MSCe Service Rack we have 3 BCTC shelves,the shelf which is having OMP Board is considered as the Master BCTC Shelf, wheeras all the verisons and configuration data is stored

in OMP card,so we should not remove any cards in this shelf. The last card need to be removed is OMP card.)

3.4Rare view of Power distribution panel

Here, plug out only 1,2,3 & 7. Remaining 4,5 & 6 should be plug out in next Step(3.6)

4. Shutdown Process for MGW Server Rack:

4.1OMM Server:

a.) Close the network Management server software on the network Management servere.The operation is as follows: on the server console,select the menu Operation>Stop ums and then select the menu System>exit

b.) Close the SQL database on the network management server.the operation is as follows: Enter the SQL server management studio window, right-click the server and then select disconnect.

c.) Close the WINDOWS operating system and Shutdown the server

4.2Power switches/routers placed in Server Rack and then plug out the power and LAN cables.

5. Shutdown Process for MGW Service Rack:

5.1Here in MGW,we have 4 different types of shelf’s i.e., BCTC,BCSN,BPSN &BUSN.Consider, having 4 Racks,the following order need to be followed;

Rack-1 Rack-2 Rack-3 Rack-4

BUSN S-1 BUSN S-1 BUSN S-1 BUSN S-1

BCTC S-2 BUSN S-2 BUSN S-2 BUSN S-2

BCSN S-3 BUSN S-3 BUSN S-3 BUSN S-3

BPSN S-4 BUSN S-4 BUSN S-4 BUSN S-4

a.) BCTC shelf is the control shelf ,which controls all the Sub-shelfs of every rack,so we need to power off this shelf at the last order.Note: All the versions of all card ,configurations ,alarms and other data are stored in OMP card.So this card should get power-off at the last.

b.) Best process is to start the process to remove the cards from last rack which is Rack-4 Shelf-4 Rack-4 Shelf-3 Rack-4 Shelf-2 Rack-4 Shelf-1,and follow the process which explained in 2.6 & 2.7

c.) Similalry remove the cards for Rack-3 Shelf-4 Rack-3 Shelf-3 Rack-3 Shelf-2 Rack-3 Shelf-1& Rack-2 Shelf-4 Rack-2 Shelf-3 Rack-2 Shelf-2 Rack-2 Shelf-1 and follow the process which explained in 2.6 & 2.7

d.) In First Rack, we have BCSN, BPSN and BCTC and BUSN .Best practise is to remove the cards from BUSN shelf first,then BCSN &BPSN and power off the respective backplanes in same order.

e.) While powering off the BCTC shelf,first remove the card as mentioned CHUBCLKGSMPSPBUIM and finally OMP card and follow the process which explained in 2.6 & 2.7
