TOPIC: overseas students studying abroad

QUESTION: PROBLEMS? SOLUTIONS?

There is an increasing number of international students who want to spend some time studying in a foreign country. There are some major problems that overseas students might have to cope with, and a wide range of solutions can be taken to deal with these problems/issues.

Body 1: PROBLEMS:

TOPIC SENTENCE: introduce the topic; answer the first question.

When studying abroad, students might have to overcome many obstacles/difficulties.

SUPPORTING IDEA 1 (PROBLEM 1):- The first problem is that- Firstly, - Students might feel homesick during the first week being

in a totally new living environment/being away from what they are accustomed to.

EXAMPLE of problem 1- They might have to do things that they might never have

done before; cooking, cleaning, shopping, paying bills and doing the laundry themselves; and it would depress them easily.

SUPPORTING IDEA 2 (PROBLEM 2): - Secondly,- The second problem is that- Besides,- Another problem that students might have to face with- Besides, many students who used to be high achievers

come to a new university with high expectations, and if things do not go as planned, they might receive low grades, leading to a low self-esteem and an inferiority complex, hindering them from enjoying their lives.

different styles of learning and be realistic to what they might be able to achieve, so (SO THAT) they would be ready for challenges thrown at them.
