    "he garment industry of Bangladesh has been the $ey e(#ort di%ision and a main soure of

    foreign e(hange for the last -0 years! Bangladesh e(#orts .0 ty#es of garment #roduts to

    about .4 ountries around the world! In reent time it is argued that the risis in the

    Garment setor is not only limited to the wages and allowanes of the wor$ers!

    Produtions and e(#orts of the fatories ha%e dereased and the #rie of the a##arels is

    dereasing in the international mar$et! "he owners of this industry allege that) the su##ly

    of gas and eletriity is not ontinuous) beause of whih they are to use generators to $ee#

    the #rodution #roess of the fatories uninterru#ted) resulting in the inreasing ost of

    #rodutions! But it is urgent to redue the ost of #rodution to om#ly with the foreign

    buyers demand and the om#etiti%e international #rie! :oreo%er) serious and untoward

    inidents in the form of haos and onfusions are freuent in this setor on the basis of

    #etty demands of the wor$ers!

    &%en if suh allegations are true) it annot also be denied that there our freuent

    abnormal deaths of wor$ers in the garments fatories! :a'or sho$ing inidents li$e the

    So in this abo%e irumstanes it an be easily said that garments of Bangladesh are faing so

    should be more onerned about the solutions of these #roblems!

    Women wor$ers are absorbed in a %ariety of ou#ations from utting) sewing) inserting buttons)

    ma$ing button holes) he$ing) leaning the threads) ironing) folding) #a$ing and training to

    su#er%ising!

    Women wor$ mainly as hel#ers) mahinists and less freuently) as line su#er%isors and uality

    industry for less than three months! After three months) A##renties are a##ointed as hel#ers!

    Often female hel#ers are disriminated against in terms of wages le%els) and these wages are also

    often fi(ed far below the minimum wage rate! A sur%ey onduted in 455< showed that 2.J of

    female hel#ers) as o##osed to 40J of their male ounter#arts) did not reei%e e%en the minimum

    wage!

    :a$e sure that deli%ery of e(#orted #roduts by the due date! Beause it inreases the

    goodwill of the om#anies! If for any reasons the garments om#anies fail to deli%ery

    the #roduts on the date it might ham#er its goodwill and if the goodwill of a

    om#anies are ham#er it is not #ossible for them to sur%i%e in the international

    mar$et!

    We $now that beause of the inreasing of the #rie of raw materials the ost of

    #rodution of the garments #roduts are also inreases! So if the #rodution ost

    inreases the #rie of the finish goods also inrease and beause of that we ant offer

    the buyer at a lower #rie in any garments #roduts and for this reason there is a

    hane for our +:G om#anies to lose their #osition in the international mar$et and

    in this situation anybody an ta$e the hane to hold their #lae! In this ase the +:G

    It is a big #roblem for our ountry that there is small number of ualified #rodut

    designers a%ailable in garments setor but it is so im#ortant for our +:G &(#ort!
