Professional heating and plumbing products

TESTING &OPERATINGPRESSURES All models are high pressuretested to withstand 145 psi (13 bar), to perform at amaximum working pressure of101.5 psi (10 bar) at a maximumtemperature of 95°C.

CONNECTIONS Each Prorad radiator has 4 x 1⁄2inch connections as standard.

APPLICATIONS Prorad radiators are suitable fortwo pipe installations. For singlepipe applications, it is advisableto use diversion tees in thepipework, as this will assist inobtaining design performancefrom the radiators. AlthoughProrad is suitable for Microborepipework, the back tappingsmake it unsuitable for twin entryvalves.

INSTALLATION Everything required forinstallation can be found withinthe robust packaging. Bracketsare of a strong design, with opentop and deep slots, whichfacilitate easy and secureinstallation. Plastic inserts seatthe radiator precisely on thebracket minimizing expansionand contraction noise. The neatnickel-plated plug and ventprovide a watertight joint, whilstcomplementing the superiorfinish. Recommended heightfrom the floor to the base of theradiator is 150 mm minimum.This allows adequate airflowwhen the radiator is placed onthe bracket.

WATER TREATMENT On completion of the installationthe system should be properlyflushed and filled in accordancewith the British Standard Codeof Practice for the Treatment ofWater in Domestic Hot WaterCentral Heating Systems BS7593. This will remove fluxresidues and installation debris,which might promote corrosionand damage within the system.

If it is decided to apply acorrosion inhibitor to maximizethe working life of the system, itshould be applied in accordancewith the manufacturer’sinstructions and should besuitable for the particular metalswithin the system.

COAT PAINT PROCESS Each Prorad radiator issubjected to a multi stagecleaning process before the paintis applied. This involves severalrinsing stages, including an ironphosphate and demineralizationrinse.

The first coat of paint is anenvironmental friendly waterbased primer paint.

The radiator is then stoved and cooled. The second powdercoat, in warm white (RAL 9016)is applied and the radiator goesthrough a final curing stage. It isthen allowed to cool prior to packaging.

CAUTION When designing for domesticsystems we recommend thatProrad be used only in heatingsystems complying with BritishStandard Code of Practice forCentral Heating For DomesticPremises BS5449 Part 1. Singlefeed, indirect cylinders are notrecommended as shouldinterchange of water occur, freshaerated water would enter theheating system, resulting incorrosion.
