TERMINOLOGY

The microcomputer based 8 ZoneCONTROL PANEL forms the heart ofyour security system and connects to allother equipment. Each ZONE of thePanel will be connected to one or moredetection devices to protect an areasuch as the front door, hallway, windows, etc.

The Panel is said to be ARMED when itis set to detect an intruder. At othertimes it is DISARMED.

Normally a zone is consideredSECURED. Activation of a detectiondevice will cause the zone to beUNSECURED and may cause an alarm.

Detectors such as fire detectors andpanic buttons must be able to generatean alarm at all times regardless of thePanel setting. A zone with thisassignment is called a 24 HOUR ZONE.

Some detection devices may only berequired to generate an alarm orwarning only when the panel isDISARMED. A zone with thisassignment is called a DAY ZONE.

Before leaving the premises you mustARM the Panel to enable it to detectintruders and generate an alarm. AfterARMING, the Panel will ignoredetectors for the EXIT DELAY TIME toenable you to depart without triggeringan alarm.

When you enter the premises the Panelwill ignore selected zones for theENTRY DELAY TIME and will not alarmunless you fail to DISARM the panelduring this allowed time.

PRO-L / PRO-LD User Manual 5

MONITOR MODE allows selectedzones to be armed while leaving othersdisarmed if you wish to protect anumber of zones while you are athome.

If you wish to split your alarm systeminto two areas with access limited toeach area by code numbers thenAREA operation is used.

The Control Panel housing and themetal covers over external sirens areprotected by TAMPER snitches todetect someone attempting to disablethe security system. Activation of theseswitches will cause an instant TAMPERALARM.

If a detector becomes faulty, you canEXCLUDE the associated zone so thatit is totally ignored and cannot generatean alarm. INCLUDING the zone willenable it to generate an alarm again.

The Control Panel is fitted with arechargeable STAND-BY BATTERY toensure your security system continuesto operate if the MAINS POWER isinterrupted. This battery is checkedevery hour and whenever you Arm thePanel.

Whenever an alarm occurs, it may besilenced by entering an ACCESSCODE, otherwise it will reset at the endof ALARM RESET TIME. All alarmsare stored in MEMORY and may beviewed at any time by enteringMEMORY MODE.

HOW TO PROGRAM ENTRY & EXIT TIMES

Your PRO-L Control Panel will havezone(s) which are called Entry/Exitzones. These are the zone(s) which younormally enter and leave your premisesby. To allow you to do so withoutcausing a false alarm, there is an ExitTime which the Control Panel gives youto depart your premises after you Armthe Panel. There are 2 separate EntryTimes which the Control Panel givesyou to Disarm the Panel when you haveentered the premises before an alarmoccurs.

Your installer may have programmedzones with a long entry time and a shortentry time zone. (A long and short entrytime is useful if you enter by a garageor a front door).

To Program You Must Know a FewRules

Exit Time can be programmed from 1 to99 seconds in 1 second increments.

PRO-L / PRO-LD User Manual 19

Entry 1 time can be programmed from1 to 99 seconds in 1 secondincrements.

Entn; 2 time can be programmed from10 to 990 seconds in 10 secondincrements

Each one of the timers has a 2 digitprogram option number.

The current timer value is displayed bythe PRO-L when you select a timeroption. The value is displayed bvflashing out the value on the numericzone lights 1 to 8, 9 = battery and 0 =Mains at 1 second intervals.

When vou change the timer value thenew value is displayed as above. Theoption numbers are as follows:

Entry 1 Timer = option 26Entry 2 Timer = option 27Exit Time = option 28

Programming always follows thissequence;
