Community Events

OPEN HOUSE—It’s a New Year; A New You? Adults are invited to join staff and students at Kings County Adult High School on

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2-5 pm for an OPEN HOUSE/INFORMATION SESSION at the school in New Minas-34 Highbury Rd. (behind Cineplex Theatres). If you would like to come back to school we can help. Call 681-4928 for more information.

At PRMS we pride ourselves on keeping our facility clean and tidy. If at all possible

we encourage stu-dents to have differ-ent pairs of footwear

for outside and inside. This is especially im-

portant in the gymna-sium. We discourage

the wearing of outside footwear in the gym-nasium as it can dam-age the floor as well

as leave dirt and dust that causes the floor to become slippery

and unsafe.

Win a Free Lunch!!

To win a free lunch correctly answer the trivia question below:

What is the date of the Lion’s Community Supper?

ANSWER: ________________________

Student Name: __________________________________ Class: _________

Panthers’ Pact:

Respect for self, others,

learning and the environment!

Congratulations to the December recipients of the Panther's Pride Award. While many Pine

Ridge students were deserving of this award for the month, these 16 students showed excel-

lence when it comes to the Panthers Pact: Respect for self, others, learning and the environ-

ment. Recipients this month include:

Grade 6: Abigail Lewis, Brooke Perry, Jonathan Gaulton, Calum Anthony, Savana Johnson,

Sarah Albert Grade 7: Lilly Gould, Kyra Jarvis, Grace Gates, Mataya Naugler, Trinity Turmel

Grade 8: Joy Baillie, Hannah Heighes, Martha Priddle, Jacob Smith, Kayleigh Ellis

RECYCLING

Nova Learning (building owners) have purchased 2 new

recycling bins for outside. This allows students to sort garbage,

refundables, recycling, and compost. We encourage everyone to

make use of these bins so we are sending less garbage to the

landfill.

Peace Poster Award Winners Emergency lunches

Sometimes students arrive at school and find they

are in need of an emergency lunch. If your child

finds themselves in this situation they are asked to

come to the office prior to recess and call home. If

a lunch or money cannot be brought to the school

the student will get an emergency lunch ticket.

Tickets let us know how many students to expect

each day. We encourage anyone in need to get a

lunch, but also want students to be responsible

and not rely on emergency lunches because they

don’t want to make something at home.
