Today,Europeansocietiesarefacingalargenumberofpeoplecomingin,seekingrefugeandbringingalongwiththemdifferentexperiences.TheDutchproductionNEWmakesusexperienceanewcomer'sperspec-tive firsthand. The film follows young Tanans, a refugee child arriving intheNetherlandsunaccompanied.Throughtheeyesofthechild,wewitnesstheuncertaintiesofarrivingtoastrangesurrounding,aswellasthesmallgesturesandencounterswhichcanbethefoundationofsuccessfulinter-cultural dialogue.NEWencouragesashiftofperspectivesanddepictstheimportanceofem-pathy andopen-mindedness.
