DRAFT Administrative Prioritized Secondary (Gr. 6-12) Program and Facility Needs The following prioritized list of Secondary Program and Facility Needs have been identified by the High School, Middle School and District leadership teams. The prioritized needs are based on the school district’s strategic vision HSD 2025 and the 21 st Century learning represented in the Graduate Learner Outcomes. PRIORITY 1 Critical to prepare every student for learning, innovating and working in the 21st Century. Critical to enhance student and community experience. Additional classroom spaces for both individual and dual classrooms to accommodate course integration and interdisciplinary teaching (HS/MS) 15 classrooms needed to continue to support middle school house concept (MS) Digitally wired and designed classroom spaces with adequate square footage for collaboration (HS) Labs for 9th Grade Science classrooms (HS) 21st century modular greenhouse for agri-science (HS/MS) Classrooms designed to accommodate project teams, seminars, or workshops for students with adequate storage space. (HS/MS) Provides technology and technology access that can adapt to industry advancements. Specialized classrooms for making things, including art, engineering, media, and design labs(HS/MS) Flexible spaces with the potential to extend the learning areas through design (HS/MS) Personalized learning spaces (small group, quiet work space, tech access) Team/house and common collaboration space (MS) Expanded physical education spaces to accommodate - six teaching stations total (MS) and four teaching stations (HS) Expanded core spaces - hallway, cafeteria, media, multi- purpose area (HS/MS) Adequate space for integrating special education within the regular education spaces throughout the school (HS/MS) HVAC/plumbing/electrical (HS) Safety and security measures that secures the outdoor hallway and minimizes multiple entrances being open during passing times (HS) Additional parking (HS) Auditorium adequately supports student programming (HS) Dedicated bus drop off separated from pedestrians and student/visitor drivers (HS/MS) Renovated and additional tennis courts to meet the needs of our program (HS) Additional lockers to accommodate every student (HS)

conferencing (HS/MS) Additional Alternative Education space (HS) Special education spaces designed for multi-use and support

the development of independent living skills and employability skills (HS)

Support spaces - welcoming /waiting area for students, visitors, parents (MS)

Fine Arts performance space (MS)

Increase community and student access by installing synthetic turf at stadium

Adequate bleachers to accommodate spectators for all types of events

Modern concession stands to improve service

Press box meeting the needs of a Division 1 high school

Locker room space for home and visiting teams

Restroom facilities at stadium site

Restroom facilities for baseball/softball fields

Non-Critical items that would be well utilized but educational program could function without.

Centralized facilities and grounds (i.e., athletic fields on high school campus) Ample parking for all school and community events Relocate District Office to be attached to school building Relocate Instructional Technology Services to be attached to school building Updated maintenance facility space Dedicated space for community business partnerships Dedicated Board room and professional development space Relocate HMS office to centralized location Spaces that extend the classroom including outdoor learning space Additional display and performance spaces Communication / Message Sign - digital scrolling (HS/MS) Alternative Energy Source (solar, wind)
