Greetings from your Chamber Chair - Ed Speiker ~ Ed Speiker Consulting
Another successful
community senior
citizens spring
luncheon is history.
A very nice job by
Sandi and the entire
committee, but all the
wonderful volunteers made it special
this year. Setup and cleanup went
faster than normal, plus we had a ton
of wonderful gifts to give out to the
seniors. Everyone I talked with had a
great time. Thanks again for our
generous sponsors and volunteers, it
was a big success. Our Senior Queen is
Mrs. Dorothy Engel and our Senior
King is Art Draeger.
We conducted the Chamber Annual
Golf Tournament at The Meadows at
Mystic on May 19. We were able to
fill all the slots we needed. Twenty
teams golfed and we had many
sponsors. GREAT course, serious
competition and a wonderful time by
all. Congratulations to KleinBank #2
(Bob Facente, Dan Mattson and Bill
O’Rourke for 1st place finish.
As with all of our events – please share
your thoughts – we are always looking
at ways to improve our events.
May was quite a busy month; membership
meeting at T J Hooligans - a fabulous
opportunity to network your business and
enjoy the “best networking questions and
enjoy great food. During our meeting
some amazing things happened. I was
presented with a check from Chuck
Dresen, the Gambling Manager at the
Prior Lake VFW with a $500 donation to
the Kelly Meyer Memorial Fund. We also
handed out golf awards, Again Congrats
KleinBank. Gary Meyer accepted the
check on their behalf. He turned around
and handed the $200 check back to the
Chamber for the Memorial Fund. Thank
you both for your generosity. Join us for
a membership meeting, network and see
for yourself, it’s an easy fun way to get
involved!
We hosted our first Chamber coffee hour
at the Prior Lake VFW for downtown
businesses. It was a great opportunity to
get reacquainted, meet new neighbors and
share stories. We are looking forward to
next month’s gathering
We are still accepting donations to the
Kelly Meyer Memorial Fund. We are on
our way to achieving our goal of $4,000.
Each day I learn new things about what
May Member Meeting - Networking @ TJ Hooligans
Kelly Meyer helped us accomplish on an
annual basis. We relied heavily on her to
coordinate the City’s pieces of our events
and activities.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for
our membership lunch on June 17. This
will be under the big tents in the Lunds &
Byerlys parking lot. This is also the
meeting where we award the annual Dick
Underferth Humanitarian awards. We
will be served fabulous steak or
mushroom sandwiches (order your choice
when signing up!) by Lunds & Byerlys
staff.
Save the Dates: BBQ June 18, Wheels-N-
Heels July 31, & our 32nd Lakefront Days
August 6-8.
In closing, thank you for all your past and
continued support of me and the Prior
Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. And,
remember you never know where your
next customer, client, or lead may be –
take time to take advantage of the
opportunities and benefits the Chamber
has to offer.
