Thrills & Chills: BPLP Halloween Party
For this year’s event, BPs
and LPs got to play games
such as BINGO and
Spooky Musical Chairs, do
crafts like pumpkin deco-
rating and ghost suckers
and, of course, go Trick-Or
-Treating throughout some
of the campus dorms. This
year, BPLP gave out over
150 bags of Halloween
candy.
As always, the Halloween
Party is one of the most
favorite and most attended
events of this year.
On Thursday, October 29,
the Gustavus Campus
was filled with
swashbuckling pirates,
prom queens and gumball
machines as part of this
year’s annual BPLP Hal-
loween Party.

BPLP Pair of the Month: Hannah & Zachery
November’s BPLP Pair of the Month is Senior
English Major Hannah Twinton and 5th Grader
Zachery Manko. This is their second year in the
program and they love playing chess (see photo)
and pretending to be Lord of the Rings or Star
Wars characters.
Hannah and Zachery are both obsessed with read-
ing and are both avid readers of Tolkien. Hannah
describes Zachery as “very creative, smart, and
great at impersonating characters from films. He
is always thinking of or creating new characters.”
At the BPLP Halloween Party, Hannah was a Jedi
Knight and Zachery was a phantom. Hannah says,
“Zach enjoyed trick-or-treating around campus and
blending in with the shadows in his phantom cos-
tume.”

triangle will be hanging over the

and gobbler to the head.
8. Cut two feet from the orange con-
struction paper and glue to the
bottom of the cup.
Kids can make several of these paper
cup turkeys to be used as place cards
for the big Thanksgiving feast!

Paper or foam cup (8.5 oz)
Acrylic paint in fall colors (brown,
tan, orange, red, green, yellow,
etc.)
Large pom-pom for head (brown,
yellow, red, orange, etc.)
Small foam heart for gobbler (to
contrast with color of head)
Small foam triangle (orange or
yellow)
2 small wiggle eyes
3” or 2” piece of orange construc-

1 sheet of white construction paper
White craft glue
Scissors
Directions:
1. Place cup upside down on work
surface and paint brown.
2. To make the feathers, paint the
white construction paper with sev-

go. Let dry.
3. Cut feathers out in one large piece;
should be shaped similar to a hand
or crown. Cut the tips of each
feather into a point.
4. Apply glue to the bottom portion of
the feathers and press onto the
bottom of the cup. Hold in place
for a minute or so to let the glue
grab.
5. Place form heart upside down so
