So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then,

when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable

– Christopher Reeve. “The computer”…. An invention that made the entire world revolve around it. It not

only made man exceed his natural restrictions of computing power but also turned the world

into a global village.

My burning desire to explore the world of this magic machine and to know more

about it.I want to continue the zeal by doing graduate studies in computer science because it

would drive me towards my goal, which is to pursue a research career in the field of

computers. Being a person keenly interested in academics, I have an ardent desire to attain

the highest level of education and to make some remarkable contribution to this ever-

flourishing field. In view of my interest in research, my next step is going for M.S.

Right from my childhood I was interested in sciences and attended many science

exhibitions from which I learnt much about this fascinating field. My father’s Inquisitiveness

added to my eagerness in science resulted in many interesting discussions, which furthered

my interest in the field. It was at this stage that I was introduced to the ‘marvelous inventionof the mankind”, the computer which simply made me a computer maniac.

My undergraduate program with its vast and comprehensive curriculum has

enabled me to get well conversant with the necessary fundamentals in Computer Science and

Engineering. I have been consistently one of the toppers in the class. I possess a strong

practical exposure to various computer languages (Java, C++, XML, and HTML), Operating

Systems (UNIX, MS-DOS and Windows 9x/NT/Me/2000/XP) and packages (Oracle, Visual

Basic). Working under expert guidance in an encouraging and prolific environment, I

developed a strong interest in research. In the four years of my association with this field, I

developed a strong penchant towards the following subjects in which I am keen to carry a

critical study: OPERATING SYSTEMS, COMPUTER NETWORKS, DATABASE

SYSTEMS, INFORMATION SECURITY, NEURAL NETWORK and APPLICATION

PROGRAMMING.

Project #2Name: PARALLEL ARCHITECTURE DESIGN OF DECIMATION FILTER AND

IMPLEMENTATION ON FPGA

Description: Computationally efficient architectures of decimation filter are represented in this project.

The decimation filter designed in MATLAB Simu-link, implemented in VHDL (VHSIC hardware

description language) and mapped on FPGA (field-programmable gate array) of Spartan III

technology.

This technique is expected to find wide use in multi-rate signal processing such as efficient sample

rate conversion in Radar applications.
