Extend OSHC at Grovedale Primary School Last week at OSHC, children had a great time putting on their ‘Chef’s Hats and Aprons’ and participating in our cooking week! We made some delicious snacks and learnt about some healthier alternative ingredi-ents we can use when cooking. Next week we will be starting our ‘Challenges’ week, using our records book to keep track of all the challenge records children set, so we know what scores we have to beat later in the term! Our Extend Superstar for the 2nd of Novem-ber is Ella Hauenstein for her ability to lead with equity! Next week’s activities are… Monday 12th November: Egg and spoon race Tuesday 13th November: Cup stacking challenges Wednesday 14th November: Pom Pom Race Thursday 15th November: Minute to win it challenges Friday 16th November: Balloon Challenges Extend-a-Hand Learn | Aid | Appreciate Each year Extend launches Extend-a-Hand, a major social initiative that educates primary school children on the benefits to contributing to the wider community. This year, we are extending a hand to our hard working farmers who have been suffering through one of the worst droughts in living memory. Learn | Children will learn about weather systems and cycles, the impact of drought and who really provides our food. Aid | Extend has partnered with GIVIT.org.au to raise funds for farmers and their farmers Appreciate | Children will create handwritten letters and drawings expressing sentiments of gratitude and encouragement to the farm-ers and their families. Visit Extend’s donation page via GIVIT and participate in this fantastic cause! http://givit.org.au/Extend-a-Hand Look forward to seeing you all!
