As government and industry representatives at the OIFs we are:
´ Managers, directors, presidents, foresters of our respective organizations, living and working in our communities.
´ Invested in our livelihood and understand the obligations that come with being entrusted with a public resource – our forests and lands.
´ Respectful of the aspirations and rights of Aboriginal peoples, of stakeholders rights and interests, and of community views and interests.
´ Incorporate and balance the values and goals of society set out in forest legislation as government objectives.

Engagement – What Does it Look Like? ´ OIF members live, work and raise families in our
communities – we engage every day. ´ OIFs have done various forms of outreach in an effort to
engage with community leaders and First Nations ´ South: Community Breakfast Series (Williams Lake)
´ Coast: First Nation Consultation Workshop Vancouver Island Community/Forest Industry MOU
´ North: Community Breakfast Series (coming soon)
´ UBCM: connecting with community partners, to hear about your concerns and ideas for sustainable forest management.
