Model Exhibition and Nitika Gupta, Class II stood 2nd in Fancy Dress Competition
Titeer Bhar, Nandidni Sinha and Agamani Mukherjee, Class VII participated in Maths for Fun 2020
by Sakhawat Memorial Girls’ High School and secured second and third position respectively
Arundhuti Dey, Class V participated in Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa 2019 – 2020 (14th
cycle) by Confederation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations of India and won the competition
COMMUNITY SERVICE
School has been sending 50kgs of Rice and 20 kgs of Dal every month for the Mid - Day Meal of the
children of South Calcutta Inner Wheel, contributed by the students of classes LKG to V
School contributes around 150 Kgs of Masur Dal every month for the 100 students of Society 5-O,
donated by the students of classes VI to XII.
On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, School donated two computers, a set of 65 books and a cheque
of Rs 5000/- to Vivek Vihar Mission school.
Junior School donated Rice and dal to Inner Wheel School as part of the monthly donation in the
Annual Day Programme.
Ms. Dolan Chowdhury, Ms. Kavita Kothari, Ms. Madhu Kumari Singh, Ms. Piyali Roy Chowdhury
and Ms. Joyita Chowdhury visited the Bhantuali Ekal Vidyalaya, Falta and taught the children. The

underprivileged children were handed over refreshments and stationeries contributed by the students
and teachers of Shri Shikshayatan School
Three students of Class XI along with two teachers attended Christmas Carnival at NGO, Society 5 O
Shri Shikshayatan School donated 30 desks and chairs to NGO, Universal Smile
Senior School contributed over 100kg masur dal to society 5-O, donated by the students on the
occasion of the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony
As a part of the Joy of Giving Week, the teachers donated new clothes to the children of Punorjiban
Home and crèche under Hope Foundation. Students from classes 6 to 12 contributed stationery for the
whole academic year. The Children of Hope Foundation performed a short cultural programme.
The underprivileged children from UDBHAS participated in the Children's Day Programme with at
Shri Shikshayatan School. They received 2000 exercise books for the whole academic year and Story
Books for their school library.
The students of different Clubs of the Senior School along with their teachers visited the ' Little
Sisters of the Poor', an old age home, to hand over the home-made cakes for Christmas
On the Senior School Annual Sports Day, the children from the NGOs, Save the Children and Society
5-O’ participated in the events along with the students of classes VI to IX. The race winners received
medals, other students received handmade cards, exercise notebooks and stationery items
INTER HOUSE ACTIVITES
Students of Classes VI to XII participated in the Inter House Debate Competition in the school
auditorium where Group A spoke on ‘Technology has restricted creativity and originality in students’,
Group B spoke on ‘Examination held in school fail to judge the merit of a student School’, Group C
spoke on ‘Indian politics is the reason behind India’s financial breakdown’ and Group D spoke on
‘Social Media is the cause of decreasing intolerance’
Students from Classes VI to X participated in the Inter House Quiz Competition on theme ‘Music’.
Result of Group A (Classes VI, VII and VIII): Winner - Satavisha House (Participants –
Srishti Chatterjee, Class VI, Pratyasha Ghosh, Class VII and Suchetana Sen, Class VIII)
Result of Group B (Classes IX and X) was: Winner – Satavisha House (Participants –
Fiona Raj, Class IX, Kabyalekha Das, Class IX and Aishiki Guchhait, Class X)
Students from Classes VI to XII participated in Inter House Elocution Meet by Literacy Club in the
school auditorium
Students of Classes VI to XII took part in the Annual Inter-House Swimming Competition at the
School Swimming Pool on 24th September, 2019 and Vishakha House won the 1st position
Students of classes III, IV and V participated in the Inter House Quiz Competition on Mahatma
Gandhi by Gandhi 150 West Bengal in the School auditorium and Aritree Sengupta, Class 5,
Zunairah Firdausi, Class 4 and Dishita Agarwal, Class 3 of Arundhati House were the winners
Students of Classes III - V participated in the Inter House Quiz Competition in the School auditorium
and Vishakha house was the winner
Students of Class V participated in the Inter House Competition on ‘Hazards of Ozone Depletion’ and
Anushuya house was the winner
Students of Classes III, IV and V participated in the Inter House Quiz Competition on ‘Spell it right’
in the School Auditorium and Satavisha House was the winner
Students of Classes VI to IX participated in the Alpana Competition and Anusua House secured 1st
position

Interhouse throwball and basket ball competitions held on the school ground and Classes VI to IX and
XI participated. Vishakha House won the championship for Basket ball and for throwball mixed
house won the championship
Students of Classes VI to X participated in the Math-E-Magician (Quiz contest). The results were:
Classes VI to VIII :1st position – Avani Goenka, Rajlakshmi Ray, Yashika Jain

FILM MAKING
Srijani Ghosh, Ahona De and Sanskriti Chaurasia, Class VIII participated in Film Presentation by
INTACH and presented four films from which School received award for Best Direction –
‘Rosogolla’ film and Best Cinematography – ‘East Kolkata Wetlands film’
INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
105 Irish students and 10 Irish mentors visited school on 23rd April, 2019 for International Inter
Cultural Exchange Programme
Ms. Tanusree Ghosh and Ms. Paramita Chaudhuri along with 14 students from Classes XI and XII
went to Landerneau, France from 19th May, 2019 to 31st May, 2019 as a part of Educational Exchange
Programme between Shri Shikshayatan School and Lycee – Saint Sebastian School
Fulbright US teachers Brittany Carton and Tammy Dunbar visited School from 8th July, 2019 to 13th
July, 2019 by IREX as a part of Educational Exchange Programme
Secretary General, Ms. Bratati Bhattacharyya, Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Tandon, Teacher, Ms.
Tanusree Ghosh, students Ananya Gope, Aliza Arshad, Class XII and Akansha Sengupta, Class XI
attended the International Conference on STEAM 2019 and GPS Award Ceremony in Hanoi,
Vietnam on 9th and 10th August, 2019

Earth Day was celebrated at the School Ground on 22nd April, 2019
Cookery and Health and Wellness Clubs organized Beat the Heat on 2nd May, 2019
The Investiture Ceremony of the Junior Section was held on 6th May, 2019 in the School auditorium
Rabindranath Tagore’s 158th Birth Anniversary on 8th May, 2019. Junior Section organized a cultural
programme in the School auditorium. Eminent Filmmaker, Ms. Pritha Chakraborty was present as the
Chief Guest. Senior School presented a cultural program in the morning assembly
Annual Prize Distribution for Classes III-V was held on 10th May, 2019. Ms. Minu Budhia, was the
Chief Guest
Students from Classes IX to XI celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2019 in the School
Annual Concert and Prize Distribution Ceremony held for Classes VI to XII (Session 2018 – 2019)
on 29th June, 2019. Prof. Mr. Arindam Banik, Director of International Management Institute and
Parents of Saumya Chandra, topper of AISSE-2019 graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and
Guests of Honour respectively
Investiture Ceremony for the Student council was held in the School Auditorium on 13th July, 2019

The Junior Section, Senior Section and College together celebrated 73rd Independence Day at the
School Ground on 15th August, 2019
Students of the Junior and the Senior Section celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September, 2019
21 Clubs of Senior Section from Classes VI to X organized STEAM Exhibition on 26th and 27th
September, 2019
Reading Club of Senior Section alongwith students from Classes V to VIII of 32 schools of Kolkata
took part in the Literary Meet at Bhuwalka Hall and interacted with eminent writers Ms. Anita
Agnihotri, Ms. Shubhra Shah and Ms. Jash Sen on 30th September, 2019
Children’s day was celebrated by the Junior and the Senior Sections on 14th November, 2019
Classes VI to XII took part in the Annual Sports Meet at the School Ground on 21st December, 2019
Students of Classes LKG - II celebrated Christmas on 20th December, 2019
Foundation Day Celebration took place in the Bhuwalka Hall on 4th January, 2020 where awards for
Teaching Staff and Administrative Staff were given out for the Best Class Teacher, Innovative, Using
Technology in Imparting Education and100% Attendance. Dr. Chinmoy Guha, Ex-Vice Chancellor of
Rabindra Bharati University was the Chief Guest
Farwell for Class XII was organized in the Bhuwalka Hall on 22nd January, 2020
70th Republic Day celebration was held at the School Ground on 26th January, 2020
Students, teachers and staff celebrated Saraswati Puja on 29th January, 2020
Annual Sports meet for Classes III-V was held on 18th January, 2020. Mr. Jamshid Nassiri, ex Iranian
football player was the Chief Guest and Mr. Dilip Bandyopadhyay, Joint Commissioner of police was
the Guest of Honour
Prayer Service for Board Batches X and XII was held in the School Auditorium on 3rd February, 2020
Junior school celebrated Bhasha Dibosh in the School Auditorium on 20th February, 2020. Mr.
Bishambhar Newar, Director of TAZAA TV and the Chief Editor of a Hindi daily was the Chief
Guest. Mr. Zha Liyou, Consul General of Chinese Consulate in Kolkata was the Guest of Honour
Holi celebration was held in school on 6th March, 2020. Academic and Administrative staff
participated in the programme
Women's Day celebration was held on 12th March, 2020, the teachers of senior section put up a
cultural programme
EXCURSION
Thirteen students from Class XI went for an Entrepreneurship Field Visit at Kothari Processors
Private Ltd., Shankrail Industrial Park, Dhulagori for CBSE Class XI Entrepreneurship field trip
Twenty students from Classes VI to XI along with Principal and staff went to Europe for the
educatioinal excursion organized by EdTerra Edventures
Students of Nature Club went for Bird watching at Santragachi Jheel
Staff picnic was held at Calcutta Business School on 1st February, 2020
Students of Classes IV and V went for an Educational tour to Galudih-Ghatshila

SWIMMING –
Abhilasha Shaw, Class X participated in All Bengal Swimming Meet 2019 by All Bengal
Swimming Association and stood 1st in 50-meter back stroke, free style, breast stroke and
individual 200-meter medley and 2nd in 50-meter butterfly stroke and 100-meter freestyle
Abhilasha Shaw, Class X and Sushmita Saha, Class VII participated in Inter School Swimming
Competition by Asian International School and stood 1st in 25-meter back stroke and 25-meter
butterfly stroke and stood 2nd in 25-meter Free Style and 25-meter Back Stroke respectively

TABLE TENNIS –
Roshmita Paul, Class VIII participated in Table Tennis Tournament by Nabin Sangha and

won Gold and Silver, Aastha Prasad and Ehsas Singh, Class VIII won Silver, Jagriti Rudra,
Akshiti Baunawal, Sana Paul and Priya Jaiswal, Class VIII won Bronze, Uma Roy, Class X
won Silver and Bronze, Khusbu Agarwal, Class XI won Silver and Bronze and Tinny Sarkar

Inter School and Senior Karate Championship Federation Cup by All India Seishinkai Shito
Ryu Karate Do Federation where Khushbu Agarwal received 2 Gold and 1 silver medals,
Tinny Sarkar received 2 silver and 1 bronze medals and Shruti Agarwal received 1 bronze and
1 silver medals
Uma Roy, Class X participated in South 24 Parganas. District Karate Do Championship –
2019 by South 24 Parganas Karate Do Association and stood 1st in Individual Kumite and 3rd
in Individual Kata
Divyanshi Panda, Class VI participated in 28th Open International Karate Championship 2019
by Indian Sports Shatokan Karate Association and stood 3rd in 12 years individual Kata

Championship by All India Seishinkai Shito-Ryu Karate Do Federation and Khusbu Agarwal,
Class XI received double Gold medals, Swastika Pal, Class VIII received Silver medal, Tinny
Srakar, Class XI received Silver and Bronze medals and Sreeja Srivastava, Class VII and
Shruti Agarwal, Class XI received Bronze medals
Khushbu Agarwal, Tinny Sarkar and Shruti Agarwal, Class XI participated in Karate Black
Belt Examination by Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation and both received Black Belts
Porshia Munshi, Class IV participated in Inter School Co- scholastic competition by Future
Foundation School and won silver medal in Karate competition (Kata)
Akshaine Barman, Class III participated in KKI Cup National Level Full Contact Karate
Championship Category – 8 – 10 years’ girls and secured 2nd position in under 8 and 1st
position in under 10 categories

Seishinko Sheto by Ryu Karate Do Federation and secured the 3rd position
Arushi Banerjee, Class IV participated in 6th Sikki Inter School and Sr. Karate Championship,
in Category 9 years 30 kgs placed 3rd and in Kata secured the 1st position

Under -17- Mixed Doubles Badminton Tournament organized by West Bengal Badminton
