Peanut AllegiesParents are requested to consider not sending lunches andsnacks containing nut products for children attending JindaleeState School. Some of these students are so allergic that evena minute amount of peanut butter or Nutella could cause ananaphylactic reaction.
The problem products include Nutella, Peanut Butter and anyother snack product that contain traces of nuts which could putother students at risk.
Thank you for helping us keep all of our students safe. We askthat everyone please consider the needs of our anaphylacticstudents, whose reaction to nut products could be fatal.

Supervised School Crossings InformationParents and teachers are asked toencourage their children to use thesupervised crossing and to set a goodexample themselves by obeying the SchoolCrossing Supervisor's directions wheneverthey use the crossing.
Stop when the STOP sign is displayed
When the School Crossing Supervisor holds up the STOP signall road users must stop their vehicles, clear of the crossing.Road users must not begin to accelerate until all pedestriansincluding the School Crossing Supervisor are safely on thefootpath on either side of the road. If a vehicle has stoppedto give way to the pedestrians at a crossing facility, do notovertake the vehicle while it is stationary.
Failure to comply is an offence that will be reported to thePolice.
No Stopping Zones
The ‘No Stopping’ zones delineate the School CrossingSupervisor’s workplace and serves to protect an area on eitherside of a crossing facility. It is important to the safety ofpedestrians who use the crossing facility that this road rule isfollowed. If this is ignored the enforcement agencies will becontacted. The design of a crossing facility is a standard layoutdescribed in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices toallow School Crossing Supervisors/ pedestrians to have a clearview of approaching vehicles and vice versa.
School Crossing Supervisors have the authority to report anyincidents that affect their personal safety and the safety ofpedestrians. They will record registration numbers and details of
2
offending vehicles and report them. There are no circumstanceswhere a driver can stop in the crossing zone, drivers deliveringor waiting for children are no exception and are not exempt.
Supervised crossing procedure
The School Crossing Supervisor will ask all pedestrians, bothchildren and adults, to wait on the footpath. When a suitablegap appears in the traffic from both directions, the supervisorwill extend the STOP sign to face the traffic and when it is safeto do so proceed to the centre of the road with the STOP signdisplayed. The supervisor will blow two blasts of the whistleto indicate that it is safe for pedestrians to cross. When allpedestrians have cleared the crossing, the School CrossingSupervisor then returns to the footpath.
All cyclists, skateboarders, children wearing roller blades or withscooters will be asked to dismount and walk their 'wheels' overthe crossing.
Please assist your School Crossing Supervisors – they are hereto protect your children.
