We were able to hold the Year 6 Farewell dinner last Wednesday night at the RSL. It was a lovely celebration for our Year 6 students. We also held the Year 6 Final Assembly on Friday afternoon and our Captains presented the school with the Year 6 gift. The gift this year is seating for under our ‘Four Trees’ area. These seats are being designed and made by the Scone Men’s Shed and should be completed and installed for the beginning of the school year. Thank you, Year 6! This week all students have been participating in the Circus Challenge Rewards Day activities. This is a great celebration of the wonderful behaviour our students have displayed throughout this term. Thank you to Mrs Croucher for organising these activities. Finally, I would like to wish everyone a relaxing, healthy and safe holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year. School will start back for students in Year 1-6 on Friday 29 January. Kindergarten will have their first day on Wednesday 3 February. Merry Christmas Everyone! SHOWING GRATITUDE TO OUR NEIGHBOURS Our leaders went for a walk around the block delivering Christmas gifts to all of our lovely neighbours. We thanked them for returning balls that may have gone over the fence and wished them a Merry Christmas. The gifts were made by the SRC students and a wonderful way to show our gratitude.

    KINDERGARTEN BEST START INTERVIEWS 2021

An email has been distributed to parents of Kindergarten students enrolling at Scone Public School in 2021. Please book an interview online for your child’s Best Start Interview. Parents will need to book an interview using the same ‘school interviews’ program used for transition bookings using the codes provided.

UNIFORM SHOP SCHOOL HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS

    CHAPEL ARRANGEMENTS

At Scone Public School we offer combined Religious Education. We call it ‘Chapel’ and it is held for 30 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon.

Our local Chapel/SRE coordinator is Kerry Cooke and the Authorising Priest is Jesse Baker (Anglican Church).

Permission forms have been signed to acknowledge your child’s attendance or non-attendance at Chapel. These arrangements will remain in effect for the remainder of their schooling at Scone Public School unless we are advised otherwise.

COVID RESTRICTIONS FOR 2021 There are currently draft guidelines for the start of 2021. Department of Health are waiting to see what happens over the Christmas period before making any changes to the guidelines for schools. To start the 2021 year, we will:

    • Allow P&C meetings, on the school site after school hours for no more than 30 adults. • Ask that no parents come on site unless they have made arrangements through the office. • Canteen helpers, Uniform shop and Reading Helpers are allowed with restrictions. • Pick up times will be 3.15pm for all students, with parents observing social distancing outside the school

gate. • School Bubblers will be operational but students are encouraged to bring their own drink bottles, if

possible. • Our SRC ‘Chapel’ program will continue in 2021, with restrictions. • NDIS providers will be allowed on site to work with students (not in the classroom) as per the current

arrangements. • Whole of school assemblies can recommence from 12 November. Where possible, students should remain

within their relevant cohort to limit the mixing of students between cohort groups. Parents and carers are not permitted to attend school assemblies.

    • Note that all adults visiting a school must comply with the department’s COVID-safe requirements including personal hygiene, infection control and physical distancing guidelines. All visitors must sign the external visitors form each time they visit the school regardless of the frequency and duration of the visit.

NDIS EXTERNAL PROVIDERS The final day for NDIS External therapists to attend Scone Public School for 2020 will be Wednesday 16 December 2020.

    Therapist Procedures and Guidelines 2021

To allow students and staff to settle into the new school year, therapy for 2021 will not commence until the beginning of WEEK 4, Monday 15 February 2021.

The process for requesting therapy delivery at school is as follows:

    1. The family must submit in writing to the Principal a request for NDIS Service Provision to be conducted during school hours. Parents are asked to meet with the school to discuss their request. This request will be through the Request for NDIS Service Provision form. (Appendix 6).

    2. This form is then processed during Learning Support Team meetings which are conducted on a Monday. 3. A letter will then be forwarded to the family with recommendations which will outline days and times

available and they will inform the therapists of availability. 4. Therapists will be required to contact the school office by email at [email protected] and

provide relevant details (name, email address, contact number and student they will be working with). That will enable the classroom teacher to contact you and confirm appointments.

    5. New therapists that have not visited Scone Public School during 2020 will be required to complete an Appendix 11 and supply our school with the necessary 100 points of I.D. which include a birth certificate/ marriage certificate or passport, drivers licence and their Working with Children clearance (letter with number and expiry date).

    6. When current therapists’ WWCC expires, documentation relating to the new number will need to be submitted. A new Appendix 11 will need to be completed at this time.

    7. An induction will also be required before being able to work with students. An appointment must be made with the school office for this induction.

    8. Therapists will be required to give a copy of their 2021 Child Protection Awareness Certificate.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
