You Can Make a Difference: Get Involved!

We are actively seeking parents to fill the PTA leadership roles for next school year. The PTA gives tremendous support to the school by building a strong sense of community, by raising funds to improve the school and by assisting the teachers, staff and administrators. We need your help! Contact PTA President Mariah Payne at [email protected] to learn more.

This is the best investment you can make in your children’s school experience.

Winter Weather Is Here!

A uniform procedure to close all schools is maintained so that the school system can respond quickly to emergency weather conditions. Information about the weather is gathered from many sources, including The National Weather Service, AccuWeather, the news media and inspection of the roads, school driveways and sidewalks throughout the county. Information from these various sources is factored into decision making for school closures and delays.

There are many ways in which you can find out about school closings and delays, please do not call school.

Parents can sign up for Alert MCPS. Alert MCPS provides you with emergency information about school operations via text messages (i.e. SMS text or email messages) to devices you register. Signing up for Alert MCPS is free, but your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to receive text messages. This service is provided in collaboration with the Montgomery County government. Weather-related messages are sent in English and Spanish.

Box Tops for Education CONTEST!!!

We are all doing an awesome job collecting box tops and sending them into school! Keep up the great work!

Our next contest will start on Tuesday, January 15 and end on Friday, February 22. We are excited to see which classes can collect the most box tops. There will be one classroom that wins per grade so please send in as many box tops as you can during that time!!! The box tops should be sent in with your child to their classroom in either a ziplock bag or on a collection sheet (you can find them at www.btfe.com). There is a collection bag in each classroom where the students can put the box tops. We can’t submit expired box tops, so if you have any of those, please just throw them out.

THE WINNING CLASSES WILL GET A REWARD

If you haven’t sent in box tops in the past, please see the image below. Please make sure the expiration date is current, as well as that the box top includes everything you see in the sample below.
