Dear Colleagues,

It gives me immense pleasure to present the third issue of the bi-monthly APEC Digest for

I am delighted to present here that the publication made by the faculties & the students are

enormous as well many guest lectures had been organised by all the departments to enhance the hidden

potential of the students. The industrial visits enriched the real time experience in collaboration with the

curriculum. I am pleased to say that are students have participated in many events and made

presentations and publications. I can proudly say that our students excelled in various sports events.

Various student chapter activities were organised by different departments. It gives me extreme

privilege to share that our college is awarded with ICI Students Chapter award. And EDU Rand

Rankings has recognised our college. And also Overall championship has been awarded to our college

with 5 First Prizes and 3 Second Prizes. It is a honour to obtain Overall Championship from Anna

University Inter Zonal Sports 2014-15.

XI. Student Chapter Activities

A National Level Technical Symposium,

CREMEDELA 2k14 was conducted by

the department of CSE on 1st Oct, 2014,

at Indoor Auditorium, APEC. Mr.

N.Chandrasekaran, Vice President, Take

Solutions, was invited as Chief Guest.

Paper Presentations and various Events

were conducted.

On behalf of the Engineers day on September 15th, various Sports activities like Short

put, Running race etc were conducted by the department of Computer Science &

Engineering. Tree Plantations were done as a social awareness to protect the

environment.

Research and Development cell organized an ”Interactive Session - Research Frontiers”

by Dr. P. Ramasamy, Dean - Research, SSN College of Engineering on September 13,

2014.

Research and Development cell organized an Interactive Session on “Shaping the

Research Programme” by Prof. A. Rajasekaran, Advisor, All India Council for Technical

Education, AICTE, New Delhi on September 15, 2014.

College Bazaar was organised by the department

of Management studies in association with

community development centre in order to

support the self-help group and as a corporate

social responsibility of the institution as it

improves the well-being of the society.

A National level student technical symposium,

APNACS’14 was organized by the society of

Civil Engineers of the department on 15.09.14.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. A.

Rajasekaran, Advisor, AICTE, New Delhi.

Souvenir and the CD of APNACS’14 was

released by the Chief Guest and received by

Dr.V.Ramasamy, Principal. Various events like

paper presentation, CADD contest, Quiz

competition and Connexion were conducted

among participants from various Engineering

Colleges on this occasion. The valedictory

address was delivered by Dr. Elavenil,

Professor, VIT University, Chennai Campus

.

Engineer’s day was organised by society of Civil Engineers in association with ICI

student chapter of the department on 15.09.14 at the

main block auditorium of the college. The event was

inaugurated Mr. R. Radhakrishnan, Secretary

General, ICI, Tamilnadu. He explained the various

opportunities awaiting the civil Engineering students

in IT and core engineering students. He advocated

that student must learn operation of total station.

Another skill required was proficiency in Archi

CAD.

Concrete day was organised by society of Civil Engineers in association with ICI student

chapter on 10.09.14 at the main block auditorium of the college. Mr. E. Balakumar, Final

year Civil, conducted a quiz program with six teams irrespective of all the years from the

Department of Civil Engineering participated. The

quiz involved the ability of the participants in the

overall concepts of Civil Engineering.

Two Days Workshop on Bridge Design and

Fabrication was organised by Zephyr IIT Bombay

&ARK Solutions, Mumbai on 13th

& 14th

of

October 2014 at H-Block Auditorium. The workshop was conducted to give both

theoretical and practical knowledge to the students on bridge design and fabrication.

National level Technical Symposium

“CHEMZEST – 2k14”, was held on 30.09.14.

Mr.K.R.S.R. Krishnan, Vice President, Petrofac

Engg. Services India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, acted as

Chief Guest. He delivered a guest lecture on the

topic “Leadership quality in Industry”,

Mr.Rathinavelu, Senior Process Engineer, Petrofac

Engg. Services India PVT Ltd, Chennai, acted as

a guest. Students presented from various colleges participated in the symposium and

presented “working models”, “papers” and “posters” on the same day.

XII. Awards and Recognition

Adhiparasakthi Engineering College received the ICI

Students Chapter Appreciation Award on 18th

September 2014 during the Concrete day celebrations.

Award 2014, 14th

Mr.S.P.Ponnusamy, Associate Professor of MCA department has conferred doctoral

degree on the topic of “Design and development of Hot-point Proxy (HPP caching

with Multivariate sector for effective multimedia streaming” at Bharathiar University,

Coimbatore, on 12.09.2014.

Mr. John Branesh, II Year Civil has been selected for Vayusinik Camp and he has been

selected as one of 15 students from Tamil nadu, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar.

of Chemical Engineering on 02.09.2014. Mr. E.R.Keerthiraju is currently proceeding to The

University of Nottingham, United Kingdom for higher studies with scholarship.
