PRINCIPLE IS NOT A PRINCIPLE ......act AFTER THE FACT so they can sleep at night.
This is morally reprehensible, and not even remotely ''right'' to do. And in terms of other question, as we talked, stealing is stealing.
In the 10 commandments, it says, '' thou shall not steal''. Clear. Simple. No ambiguity whatsoever. it doesn't say, '' Thou shall not steal as long as the value of the item does not exceed 25,000 naira ''. A thief is a thief, theft is theft, and a kick back is a kick back. No matter how big or small.
PRINCIPLE IS NOT A PRINCIPLE ......''Do you have any RELATIONSHIP that COULD (not would, but could) BE PERCEIVED TO INFLUENCE YOUR DECISIONS ONE WAY OR ANOTHER TO THE POSSIBLE DETRIMENT OF YOUR JOB?''
This could be in business, personal, ANYWHERE. Does it potentially, or could perceived to, IMPACT YOUR DECISION MAKING?
A CONFLICT OF INTEREST is more than a family. It can be anyone or ANY SITUATION where your loyalities could be put under scrunity.
PRINCIPLE IS NOT A PRINCIPLE ........Doing the right thing is about taking RESPONSIBILITY. Yes there is a cost sometimes, but this is part of the principle ..... ''a principle is not a principle until it costs you something''. Yes you might lose your job. But it is better to go out with honor than in a cloud of lies and misdirection. Take the lumps like a man. That is right, and that is courage.Remember : Abraham Lincoln once said : '' Great men are not immune to sin. Yet what makes them great is they acknowledge; they rectify; and they learn''.I make mistakes. I miss. We all make mistakes, we all miss. Let's do the right thing and take accountability for our mistakes.

SPENDING OTHER PEOPLES' (OR COMPANY) MONEY : Magic Johnson, the famous basketball player, who rose from the ghettos of Michingan to become a multi-millionaire basketball player and businessman, once made a fairly famous statement : '' I may be rich. But you have to respect other peoples' money, respect it like your own money ''.It's no different in any company in the world. The guiding principle and the RIGHT principle is, '' SPEND COMPANY MONEY AS YOU SPEND YOUR OWN''. On every single purchase onbehalf of the company, we must ask ourselves, '' If this was my company, and my money, what would i do?''
I am sorry if have hurt you with this topic, but sometimes we need to give proper hearing to some ethical topics.
Lets' do the right thing. We know what right is.
