On behalf of Prince Alfred College, I would like to offer to our friends from St Peter’s College

a warm welcome for the Summer Inter-collegiate sporting competitions held at Prince Alfred

College.

We hope that players, coaches and supporters all enjoy participating in and attending some

outstanding fixtures at both schools. We are confident that they will be high standard sporting

events, played in the spirit of fierce competition and respectful sportsmanship for which these

events are known.

The special relationship between our two schools is something that we all cherish and we know

that these events provide our students with some of their most memorable experiences from

their school days.

We wish players, coaches and supporters well for the fixtures ahead.

Prince Alfred College

For many years the intercol competitions have formed part of the friendly rivalry and long-

standing sporting traditions between St Peter’s College and Prince Alfred College. For boys, the

matches and games are played with determination and grit and with great pride as they represent

their schools. Regardless of whether the result is a victory or loss, sport teaches the boys a sense

of fair play, resilience and teamwork.

As the new Headmaster of Saints, I’ve heard a great deal about the intercols and look forward to

being part of this important tradition. I am a firm believer in the value of sport and the lessons

it can teach students about the responsibilities of being part of a team and the direct and

immediate feedback it can provide to student effort and determination. Overall, we hope that

participation in school sport will amplify lifelong health protective factors and participation in

community life beyond school. I wish all the boys the very best for their games.
