RELIGIOUS Saint Denis is one of 7 men sent to Gaul to spread the Christian word. Saint Denis, along with two other men, Rusticus and the deacon Eleutherius, are Martyred. during the Decian Persecution in Gaul. Veneration of Saint Denis spread throughout Gaul. A Church was errected on Saint Denis’ burial site. Veneration is held on October 9th with a vigil. Veneration of Saint Denis spread beyond France, and Pope Stephen II brough veneration to Rome. Soon his followers were prevelant throughout Europe. Songs were sung, at mass, in threes in worship of Denis and his two companions. The bodies of Denis, Rusticus, and Eleutherius were moved to the new high alter of Saint Denis. The feast of Saint Denis was added to the Roman Calendar by Pope Pius V. It was officially celebrated on October 9th with mass at 6:00 AM and a feast. The idea that the Phoenix is the Goddess Aurora reborn spreads throughout Europe. 1400s CE An abundant amount of the stone Ametrine is found throughout France and thought to be a sign from Aurora because of it’s similar color to the sky at dawn. It becomes very popular for a number of years. 1450s CE Discovery of the Americas by European Colonists. 1492 CE Yellow/gold, orange, and red are accepted as the colors worn and displayed on Prime Eve and Prime.
