How to Install Primatte 3.0 Following are instructions for installing Primatte on Windows or Macintosh.

Please note that your installer is not cross-platform; it will either work on the

PC or the Mac. Registration occurs upon purchase of Primatte. Therefore, no

additional steps need to be taken to register the product.

Installation: Mac OS X

Primatte 3.0 is supported on Mac OS X, all variants, and runs natively on Intel Macs. We do not support OS 9.0 for this product.

Primatte 3.0 works in Adobe Photoshop 5.5 +higher, including Photoshop CS3. It is also compatible with Photoshop Elements 2.0 +higher, including Elements 5.0.

Steps to installTo install for Photoshop, double-click on the Primatte 3.0.dmg to mount the volume to your hard drive. Go into the mounted disk image. Double-click the ʻPrimatte 3.0 installer.pkgʼ.

You need to designate both the drive to install to AND the install location. Choose the ʻPlug-insʼ folder for your version of Photoshop when prompted to do so.

The path should be something like this: Hard Drive/Applications/Adobe Photoshop/Plugins

Installing will create a ʻDigital Anarchyʼ folder inside the Plugins folder, with a plugin file inside.

Installation: Windows

Primatte 3.0 is supported in Windows 2000, XP Pro, XP Home and Vista 32-bit. Primatte 3.0 works in Adobe Photoshop 5.5 +higher, including Photoshop CS3. The product should work in Vista 64-bit, but we do not provide support for that system at this time.

Steps to installIf you downloaded Primatte for Photoshop from the Digital Anarchy website, you will find a zipped file named in your download directory. Double-click to unzip the .ZIP file into a temporary directory. Then double-click the ʻSetup.exeʼ file.

If you received a CD from Digital Anarchy, the install program is not zipped. Copy the ʻSetup.exeʼ file to your desktop, then execute the file by double-clicking on it.

Launch the Primatte 3.0 installer and click the ʻNextʼ button through the License Agreement. Click ʻNextʼ until you get to the ʻLocate Destinationʼ screen. The installer needs you to point to your Photoshop Plugins directory.

The Plugins directory is inside your Photoshop application folder. Click on ʻBrowseʼ and navigate to Adobe Photoshop directory on your hard drive. Select the ʻPlug-insʼ folder. Click ʻNextʼ.

The directory path is something like this: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop/Plugins

NOTE: This is important. You need to specifically choose the ʻPlug-insʼ folder as your destination, or Primatte many not work correctly. Do NOT install to your desktop, then drag over the file.

You are ready to install. The installer will show a screen informing you of this. Click the ʻNextʼ button to begin installation.

Support for version 2.0

If you install Primatte 3.0 while version 2.0 is still present, some conflicts will occur between the plugins. What generally happens is when you launch Photoshop, you will only see Primatte 2.0 as an option in the Filters menu.

You need to remove version 2.0. You can do this by either (a) deleting the 2.0 folder, or (b) moving the 2.0 folder outside of Photoshop, most likely to the desktop. This removal can be done after 3.0 has been installed; you will not need to reinstall 3.0. However, you will need to quit then reopen Photoshop.

Using demo or purchaseIf you are using Primatte 3.0 in demo mode, you will see a watermark through your photographs. Except for that crosshatch, the demo of Primatte will work exactly the same as the purchased version.

Activate your purchaseIf you have purchased Primatte 3.0, you can unlock the demo by entering your Serial Number and purchase information. Otherwise, the product will remain watermarked.

To activate, choose the Digital Anarchy> Primatte filter for your Photoshop> Filter menu. A dialog box will appear. This dialog box asks for your Name, Organization, and Serial Number.

If you have purchased the product, we sent you an email with this information. This info is case sensitive and very specific. Please enter the info exactly as weʼve written it out.

Activation Code

If you are behind a firewall or off-line, you will be asked to contact us for additional instructions. You will need to send us your Hardware ID. Using this ID, we will generate a unique code for your machine to run Primatte 3.0.

Install to multiple apps

You can install Primatte as many times as needed on the same computer, to multiple versions of Photoshop or Elements on that computer. For each version of the host app, you will need to perform a separate installation of Primatte to that applicationʼs ʻPlug-insʼ folder.

Location of filter & manual

The Primatte filter is accessed through a Digital Anarchy sub-menu in the Photoshop Filters menu.

There is a Manual button at top right of the Primatte interface. This button will find and launch the Primatte PDF manual you are now reading if the following conditions are met:

1. This PDF file must be named ʻPrimatte2Manual.pdfʼ

2. This PDF file must sit in a specific location in your Photoshop folder. That path is created when Primatte is installed, and is the following: Photoshop\Plugins\Digital Anarchy\Primatte 3.0.
