Training & Skills Development CenterThe UAE Academy is renowned for its innovative and hands-on approach to training and skills development. We work with public and private institutions to determine the training solutions that will best leverage their pool of talent. Then, we conduct these courses with globally recognized courseware and highly respected instructors.

We offer a variety of English language courses. The instructors in the Languages and Communications Department all have language teaching qualifications and employ a communicative approach to language acquisition. In all courses, skill and task based activities are integrated to reflect real life English communication and to maximize the relevance of class materials. Customized teaching materials are used alongside core textbooks from renowned publishers such as Cambridge, Oxford and Pearson Longman.

We offer a wide range of programs for public and private entities to train their employees in the area of Information Technology. We are a certified center for Microsoft and Oracle to name a few.

Information Technology

We offer both custom and standardized business management courses. We diligently update our business management course materials and teaching methodologies in line with the rapidly evolving local and global business ecosystems. With qualified instructors who conduct both training courses and research, students can be assured that they are being taught the latest business innovations.

Business Management

We offer a unique Training Needs Analysis (TNA) methodology that has been refined over several years to account for local market intricacies while still maintaining global best practice. Following completion of our TNA, we either utilize an existing program within the UAE Academy or, if none fit, we create a new course by using a proven set of materials and our access to a large pool of talented instructors in the Emirate.

National Qualifications Authority (NQA) FrameworkThe UAE’s National Qualifications Authority (NQA) has developed a federally recognized qualifications system, called QFEmirates, that incorporates the Abu Dhabi 2030 Economic Vision and the UAE Strategic Vision. The UAE Academy has carefully aligned the BTEC Qualifications Framework with the QFEmirates Framework via a comprehensive mapping matrix between BTEC course learning outcomes and QFEmirates level descriptors. The result is a seamless foundation upon which the UAE Academy can offer a wide range of programs including Business Management, Tourism, and Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).

BTEC FrameworkThe UAE Academy’s Business Management Qualifications Program is based on the BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) framework. BTEC offers high quality and internationally recognized vocational degrees and diplomas that provide students with the requisite knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a business environment.

BTEC, a respected institution for 25 years, takes a practical approach to learning while also incorporating theory. The BTEC framework comprises vocational and work-related courses designed to accommodate the needs of employers and allow students to progress in their education.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center

The SME One-Stop Centre (SOSC) leverages the Chamber’s existing services to business start-ups and SMEs and provides mentorship, training and an SME Clinic open to all Chamber members.

The SOSC will cater to all major industry segments and provide much needed support to SMEs who often require such services. It will help SMEs with improved business planning while helping them identify significant growth opportunities across the UAE and the wider region.

The Business Start-up and Innovation Park (BSIP) begins by equipping the participants with an awareness of entrepreneurial best practice. This is followed by training to develop the business skills necessary to start, test and run their own business. The participants, who include unemployed youth, will also gain the necessary skills required to work in a professional capacity.

The Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) prepares participants for real-world engagement in entrepreneurial activity. Program leaders work with a select group of participants who have the capability and interest required to successfully start a new business. Budding entrepreneurs are nurtured and mentored to develop SMEs, which in turn leads to private sector growth.

Scientific Research and Business InnovationThe UAE Academy’s Scientific Research and Business Innovation department comprises two main pillars, both aimed at serving the UAE Academy’s strategic initiatives.

The first pillar concentrates on the local market environment, its efforts focused on Abu Dhabi, by taking a close look at the problems faced by the business community. In turn, solutions to problems are provided, which may include the expedition of setting up a business as well as making policy recommendations.

The second pillar of the Scientific Research and Business Innovation department encompasses the entire Middle East region and aspects of the world at large. This allows learning by example from what is taking place in other parts of the world and adapting those practices in order to support the shift to the non-oil sector and build human capital in alignment with Vision 2030.

Best Practices and BenchmarkingAs part of the UAE’s Research and Development department, ‘Best Practices and Benchmarking’ is an initiative serving to meet the standards of the academic world. This is achieved in three steps. The first is by producing a Research Report that reflects latest developments under exploration by the UAE Academy, ADSM and the Abu Dhabi Chamber. The second is by sending this Report to Peer Review Journals (PRJs) that align with the topic of publication. Finally, faculty members will present their research in regional and academic conferences.
