MIĘKISZ STARYPOLAND
Miękisz Stary is a small village established at the turn of the XV – XVI century. It is situated in the south – east of Poland near Jarosław (about 24 km) and 16 km from Polish – Ukrainian border.
The inhabitants of Miękisz Stary are mainly farmers as there aren't any big industrial
company.

There are some places that are worth – seeing in Miękisz Stary:
Primary School The John Paul II
Our school guarantees required standard of teaching, pupils know each other as there aren't many of them, our school is conducive to milieu, teachers
are willing to help pupils and they conduct extra-curricular activities.
Our main aim is to educate our students to become conscious
in their chosen decisions and to become good citizens. Mission of our school is to satisfy our students' needs of security,
friendship and self-realization.
We prepare our students to live in Europe of the 21st century
by:- teaching tolerance and
acceptance of themselves and other people
- developing listening skills- developing responsibility and
sensitivity- fostering traditions and
customs
Our students are greatly involved in taking care of a
monument of Polish pilots who died there during World War II.
There is also a crucifix that remind the airplane disaster.
Each year in September we organize run to honor the died
pilots. Many other schools come to us and there are many
sports competitions.
Our important festivals are:- the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II - 1st September- Day of National Education - 14th October- Independence Day - 11th November- Christmas - 25th December- Grandparents' Day - 21st-22nd January- Valentine's Day - 14th February- Easter- the anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II- Mother's Day - 26th May- Child's Day - 1st June- Father's Day – 23rd June
Our school is small, there are six classes, kindergarten, two kitchens, one dining hall, a big
gym, one library and one computers' room. There are about 100 students and 14
teachers.
