A browse window opens allowing you to choose a picture. Press ok. You may scale the pictures dimensions by dragging a corner while holding down the SHIFT key.
Update Table of contentsThe Table of Contents is created on the basis of what styles that have been chose for headings. If you want a heading to be part of the Table of contents you must use the predefined styles – otherwise Word won’t recognise the heading and won’t insert it in the Table of contents. The following styles may be used:
Title Subtitle Billede Heading 1 Heading 2
The Table of contents isn’t dynamically opdated. You must update it using Words feature for maintenance of the Table of contents. Choose References -> Update tables -> Update entire table
Shortcut keys to format text:Italic: use Ctrl+iBold: use Ctrl+BPage break: Ctrl+Return
Tips:Do not delete the first page and the contents page. Fill in the first page and just update the contents when you are finished typing in your thesis. (Click the right mouse and choose "Update Field").

Important• The content of the document must be about 30 pages.• Footnotes (citations) must have a reference source. To insert a footnote: Place the cursor
where you want the reference tag1 to appear, open Insert -> References -> Footnotes. Word will insert the footnote number and put the cursor in footnote ready to write the text.
• The thesis has to end with a literature listing.• The font to use is Verdana size 10.• Please note that the thesis will be printed out on both front and back of the paper.• When mailing the finished thesis to GIS please attach both a word and a pdf file of the thesis.
1 The reference tag will be generated with contiguous numbers by default, but can be changed to e.g. alphabetical tags in the footnote submenu.
