St Mary’s Parish Christmas Craft Fayre
with Special Guest “Ho!Ho!Ho!” Saturday 30th November 12 noon - 4.00pm
Please contact Sarah Lee if you feel you can help in putting
together a parish family craft fayre to take place on the first
weekend of Advent. There is muscle needed to help set up and
tidy away, raffle ticket sellers, face painters, cake makers, bottle
stallholders and elves to help our special guest. Please note that
there will be NO bric a brac stall - It is a lot of work sorting through
it and then disposing of what is left instead, we are inviting local
craft traders to buy a table and come along to sell their wares.
Please come and support this event and help where you can.
It won’t happen without you! Father Tim
Raising awareness on EU Citizens Settlement Scheme and support for vulnerable EU Citizens
‘EEA and Swiss citizens, and their family members in the UK, will need to apply to secure their rights through a free, simple, digital system. This will give them a status in UK law, once we leave
the EU. There is plenty of time to apply – in a deal scenario, the date for applications to be made is 30 June 2021. In a no deal, applicants have until 31 December 2020.
Irish citizens do not need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to protect their status and rights. They are covered by Common Travel Area (CTA) arrangements.
Home Secretary, Priti Patel, announced on 9 October 2019, that there have been 2 million applications to the EU Settlement Scheme. This means that there are an estimated 1 million EU Citizens still to apply. These may include vulnerable people such as the homeless, disabled and elderly. Many of these vulnerable people may be members of our parishes and may have applied
already. Those who hold Permanent Residence will need to convert this to settled status, by applying to the EU Settlement Scheme. Others may not be aware of the need to apply, or require
particular assistance. These could include people who are elderly, housebound, live in Care Homes, have poor English skills, or have limited computer or digital skills, are homeless.
If you know of anyone this may apply to then please help them to find members of the parish or a charity who have the appropriate skills to work with them.

Filipino Supper Evening – THANK YOU!
Our Filipino community once again
surpassed their generous best and over 90
people enjoyed what has become a
highlight of the St. Mary’s social calendar.
The fabulous food included seafood and
vegetarian options following soups, spring
rolls and other snack starters. The supper
evening was rounded off with a sumptuous
array of desserts. Oh and £726.46 was
raised for St. Mary’s to boot!
THANK YOU ALL!
Lists and envelopes will be available in the
Narthex for those who wish their loved ones
to be remembered during November.
