The varsity boys’ basketball team is 3-6 on the season.

The Pilgrims won their first NLC Conference game against Northwood before Christmas break in a thriller. Plymouth, behind most of the game, came back in the 4th quarter with John Ruff making a lay up with less than 4 seconds le� in the game to give Plymouth the lead and the win 53-52. Ryan McNeil led the team with 13 points. Ruff had one of his best games so far scoring 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, along with 5 assists and 5 steals. Kyle Kaser finished the game with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. Ike Kastner came off the bench to grab 2 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals. Mack Mercer added 9 points and David Lee scored 8. Plymouth beat Whitko 69-44

with four Pilgrims posting double figures. Mercer led the team with 18 points, McNeil scored 13 points, Ruff added 12 and Tom Felke came off the bench to add 11 points to the score. Ruff led the team in rebounds with 7. Lee had 8 assists and Connor Flynn had 4 assists and 3 steals. Plymouth lost their first game of the season to Penn in over time 42-52. Ruff put the game into over time making a lay up with 2 seconds on the clock. The Kingsmen outscored the Pilgrims 3-10 in the over time. Mercer led the team with 14 points and 9 rebounds. McNeil had 13 points and Ruff added 12. Kyser McCrammer had 2 assists and 2 steals. Against conference foe, Elkhart Memorial, the Pilgrims lost 52-57. Mercer had 16 points, 13 rebounds and 3 steals. McNeil had 15 points including 4-three pointers. Ruff added 7 points and 3 steals. Against Tippecanoe Valley, the

Pilgrims had 24 turnovers to give Plymouth the loss 43-54. Mercer had 10 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. McNeil added 8 points. Plymouth will host conference rival Northridge on Friday, Jan. 27 for a Homecoming game. The Pilgrims will also host Mishawaka on Saturday, Jan. 28, with the JV starting at 6:45 pm.

The Scholar/athlete for the month of January is Ryan McNeil, son of John & Linda McNeil. Ryan is 16th in his class with an 11.045 GPA. He is Vice President of Varsity Club, a member of Pep Club and the National Honor Society and is currently on the basketball team. Ryan plans to attend college to study Business or Criminal Justice.

The varsity girls’ basketball team is 3-10 on the season.

The Pilgrims lost to Northwood 24-55. Hunter Stevens led the team scoring 8 points. Amber Redinger added 5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. At the Brebeuf shoot-out over the holidays, Plymouth lost to Brefeuf 35-47. Haley Harrell and Redinger led the team scoring 8 points. Stevens added 6 points. Against state ranked Norwell, the Pilgrims lost 31-53. Redinger led the team with 8 points, Lauren Tanner added 7 points and Bri� any Himes scored 6. Against New Prairie, the Pilgrims won 48-38 in a total

Tanner also had 3 assists. Against state ranked Elkhart Memorial, Plymouth lost 29-49. Plymouth stayed with the Chargers for 3 quarters but turnovers against the press put Plymouth in too big of a hole. Freshman, Stevens, had a career-high 18 points. Redinger led the team in rebounds with 8. The Pilgrims travel to Wawasee on Saturday, Jan. 21, with the JV starting at 6:15 pm.

The JV girls’ basketball team is 10-3 on the season. The Pilgrims lost to Northwood 18-27 with Savannah Mae leading the team with 6

points. Allie Wright had 4 steals and Dylan Holiday had 4 rebounds. At the JV NLC tournament a� er the holidays, Plymouth lost to Northwood 11-22 and came back to beat Wawasee 40-18 in the consolation. Against E. Memorial, the Pilgrims won 34-17. The Pilgrims travel to Wawasee on Saturday, Jan. 21, with the JV starting at 6:15 pm.

The freshman girls’ basketball team

is 4-6 on the season. Plymouth lost to South Bend Washington 22-45. The young Pilgrims will host Knox on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 pm.

The JV is 3-6 on the season. The Pilgrims lost to Northwood 19-41 with Zach Stone leading the scoring for Plymouth with 5 points.

Plymouth beat Whitko 39-27 with Ryan Mareska scoring 10 points to lead the team. The JV lost to Penn 19-48. Tom Felke led the JV scoring 9 points. The Pilgrims lost to E. Memorial 22-36 and to Tippecanoe Valley 29-33. Plymouth will host conference rival Northridge on Friday, Jan. 27 for a Homecoming game. The Pilgrims will also host Mishawaka on Saturday, Jan. 28, with the JV starting at 6:45 pm.

on the season. Plymouth lost their fi rst game back from the holidays to S.B. Washington 23-52. Theyoung Pilgrims bounced back to beat Elkhart Memorial 38-21. Plymouth lost to Triton 20-40. The young Pilgrims will play Triton in the fi rst round of the Tippecanoe Valley tournament on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10:00 am. Plymouth travels to Wawasee on Thursday, Jan. 19, for a 6:00 pm game.

Before Christmas break the Pilgrims won another conference meet beating Wawasee

100-86. Plymouth lost to Concord 75-109. Against Northridge, Plymouth lost 41-139. Plymouth will host CMA on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 5:30 pm for their senior night. Seniors are Jared Hill, son of Kim Nelson and Bruce Hill, Clayton Maddox, son of Barry & Jennifer Maddox, Ben Shor�, son of Jason & Nickie Shor� and Jordan Wendel, son of John & Susan Wendel.

The Pilgrims lost to concord 49-131. Alayna Holmquest finished first in diving along with Katelyn Brown in the 100 breast. Northridge 40-138. Layne Holloway finished first for the Pilgrims in the 100 free. Plymouth will host CMA on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 5:30 pm for their senior night. Seniors are Katelyn Brown, daughter of Jim & Melissa Brown, Alayna Holmquest, daughter of Reuben & Jill Holmquest and Melanie Pedavoli, daughter of Tom & Brenda Pedavoli.

The gymnastics team started their season at the Elkhart Central Invitational over the holidays. The Pilgrims

fi nished second, 3.2 points behind fi rst place. Freshman, Cassie Quissell, placed fi rst in both the vault and balance beam and fi nished second in the all around. Plymouth will host Lowell on Saturday, January 14, at 2:00 pm.

Rockies went 3-2 at the Wawasee Invitational. Plymouth beat Bishop Luers 60-15, Manchester 53-18 and Rochester 41-33. Plymouth lost to conference foe Wawasee 24-49 and to John Glenn 33-45. Wrestlers going 4-1 on the day were Osman Solis, 113, Steven Abair, 132, Ian Horvath, 170, Aaron Houin, 182, Jacob Segraves, 195, Corey Wallace, 220. At the Rochester 16-team Invitational, the Rockies finished 8th. DeAndre Pickford, heavy weight, finished 2nd, John Mills, 103, and Seagraves, 195, both finished 4th. At the JV North Miami tournament over the holidays, Vicente Vasquez, 182, finished 1st, and Drew Dodson, 285, finished 2nd. Against 9th ranked and conference foe, Elkhart Memorial, the Rockies lost 0-81. The following seniors and their parents were honored on Thursday, Jan. 12, before the Concord meet: Cody Benne�, son of Jerry Benne� & Linda Richter, Ian Horvath, son of John & Jennifer Horvath and Jacob Segraves, son of Jerry & Jennie Mikesell. Plymouth will compete in the NIC Super Dual on Saturday, Jan. 14.
