G.S.R. (E):- The following Order made by the President of India under sub-section (2) of section 51 of the States Reorganization Act, 1956 (37 of 1956) ishereby published as required by that sub-section. namely:-

THE HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA (ESTABLISHMENT OF PERMANENTBENCHES AT DHARWAD AND GULBARGA) ORDER, 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 51 ofthe States Reorganization Act, 1956 (37 of 1956). the President, after consultationwith the Governor of Karnataka and the Chief Justice of the High Court ofKarnataka is pleased to make the following Order, namely:-

1. Short title - This Order may be called the High Court of Karnataka(Establishment of Permanent Benches at Dharwad and Gulbarga), Order, 2013.

2. Establishment of Permanent Bench of the High Court of Karnataka atDharwad.- The Permanent Bench of the High Court of Karnataka at Dharwad shallcome into operation on 24th August; 2013.

3. Establishment of Permanent Bench of the High Court of Karnataka atGulbarga.- The Permanent Bench of the High Court of Karnataka at Gulbargashall come into operation on 31st August, 2013.

4. The Chief Justice of the High Court of Kamataka may, from time totime, nominate the Judges of the High Court of Karnataka, who shall sit,-

I 0) at Dharwad in respect of cases arising in the Districts of Bagalkot, Bellary,Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Uttara Kannada-Karwar and Koppal;and

(ii) at Gulbarga in respect of cases arising in the Districts of Bidar, Bijapur,Gulbarga and Raichur,

in order to exercise the jurisdiction and powers of the time being vested in thatHigh Court in the State of Karnataka.

5. Notwithstanding anything in sub-paragraphs (I) and (li), of paragraph 4,the Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka may, in his discretion, order thatany case or class of cases arising in any such district shall be heard at Bangalore.
