Call to Adventure

Hantu’s mother dies after giving birth to a litter of 4, in which Hantu is the only black panther. Hantu must journey to find his own territory.

Helpers

Cipan and Kara are Hantu’s companions. They guide him on his journey for his own territory away from humans.

Crossing the Threshold (Tests)

Hantu may be tested by other panthers. He could accidentally stray into an enemy’s territory.

Another test could be deforestation. Hantu could have to cross lands close to humans.

Climax

Hantu is trapped by humans and sent to a zoo. His friends need to find a way to save him.

Flight/Return

Hantu kills the zoo keeper that comes into his cage to feed him. He dashes out of the cage and runs for the forest.

Boon

Hantu’s gift is territory, which is something that all adult panthers need, since they live on their own.

Apotheosis

Hantu becomes a legend after he dies. His children told his story to their children and their children told his story to their children and so on. He was given the name “Ghost of the Jungle”.
