Investing in young people to prevent a lost generation in Europe:
key policy and practice in addressing youth homelessness
8th November 2013, Prague, Czech Republic
THE BEGINNING
For a few years now, the Madrid Municipality through its social services network
and assistance to homeless people, has been detecting an increasing number of
young people who demand social support as they are forced on to the streets.
From that moment on, Madrid has developed a series of specific strategies of
intervention with young people who live in this reality, implementing these
strategies across the whole network of homeless people and in the primary
attention network.

Currently the programme is financially
supported by the European Social
Fund and by the Region of Madrid.
Finally, the programme has the logistic support and resources of the
Homeless People Department at the Madrid Municipality, specifically
the Housing Programmes and Social Emergencies care.
