GRUNDFOS BOOSTERPAQ®

BoosterpaQ: your best choicefor pressure boosting

Designed to meet dynamiccapacity requirements withmaximum efficiencyGrundfos BoosterpaQ pressureboosting systems are the optimalchoice for water supply, buildings, industry, and irrigation.

Water SupplyBoosterpaQ systems maintain con-stant pressure for waterworks andwater distribution networks.

BuildingsBoosterpaQ systems provide com-fortable and consistent waterpressure for:

• multi-story buildings• hotels• apartments• dormitories• camping sites• schools• other institutional buildings

IndustryGrundfos BoosterpaQ systemsmeet the need for reliable, con-stant water pressure for:

• food industries such as poultryand beef processing, breweries, dairies, feed lots, and more

• water treatment plants

• petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and metal industries

• tourism and recreation—waterparks, theme parks, fountains

IrrigationGrundfos BoosterpaQ systems pro-vide dependable irrigation for:

• commercial landscaping• golf courses• agriculture• sports arenas• parks and other recreation areas• nurseries

GRUNDFOS BOOSTERPAQ®

BoosterpaQ arrivesready for operationAll BoosterpaQ systems are assem-bled and tested by Grundfos priorto delivery. The pumps are fittedwith intake and discharge mani-folds, including all necessary shut-off and check valves. Pressuretransmitters ensure instantregulation. The corrosion-free 304stainless steel frame and 316 stainless steel manifolds ensurewater quality and cleanliness.Minimum pressure loss is assuredby specially designed check valves.

BoosterpaQ systems usethe rugged Grundfos CRGrundfos CR multistage pumps arethe industry standard for trouble-free operation. The Grundfos CRis engineered andbuilt for superiorreliability and un-matched cost ofownership.

The most expen-sive part of own-ing a pump is theelectricity to runit. A recent redesign of thealready efficient CR resulted in asubstantial savings in powerconsumption.

Grundfos MLE motors with built-invariable frequency drives are justone of the unique features of theBoosterpaQ system.

“Smart” controller regulatesand monitors the pumpsThe BoosterpaQ controller canswitch the system on/off orregulate the frequency of up tosix parallel connected pumps. As a result, BoosterpaQ systemscan maintain constant pressureand optimize pumping efficiencyover wide flow ranges.

Control 2000 features all theparameters necessary to ensureoptimal comfort and efficiency. Some functions available are:

• constantpressure

• friction-losscompensation

• timer program• alternative

set-point• pump priority

ComfortBoosterpaQ output is continuallyadjusted by the Grundfos Control2000 to maintain constantpressure. CR model pumps ensurequiet operation. Variable speedsystems reduce operation noiseduring low usage, especiallyimportant for dwellings duringsleep hours.

Grundfos BoosterpaQ systems pro-vide excellent performance formunicipal as well as pressureboosting for multi-story buildingssuch as hotels, schools, etc.BoosterpaQ systems are economi-cal to operate, reliable, flexible, and guarantee comfort andperformance.

Operating economyOver time, constantly changingwater consumption patterns makeheavy demands on the adaptabili-ty of the pump system. Booster-paQ cascade control ensures thatonly the necessary number ofpumps are in operation. Features:

• friction loss compensation• alternative setpoints for night

reduction• variable speed models

ReliabilityIn the event a pump stops, theControl 2000 automatically startsanother parallel connected pump.Optional standby pumps ensurefull capacity at all times. TheGrundfos Control 2000 constantlymonitors the system and will, ifnecessary, stop the system andtrigger an alarm. Communicationenables the transfer of allparameters to a central control

station. Variable-speed regulatedsystems minimize the risk of waterhammer and subsequent pipedamage.

Operator selectableBoosterpaQ systems can be set tooperate at constant or proportionalpressure. Proportional pressure reg-ulation (falling discharge pressureat decreasing flow) guaranteesoptimum comfort and reducespotential water losses.

Reduction of tank size in variablespeed regulated systems reducesspace and cost.

GRUNDFOS BOOSTERPAQ®

Water is a vital part of manyindustrial processes. The need forconstant pressure, even underconditions with great fluctuationsin flow, places great demands onany pressure boosting system.BoosterpaQ meets the challengeof a wide variety of industrialrequirements with reliable, ruggedpumps constructed of premiummaterials, in a flexible, user-friendly design.

ReliabilityIndustrial applications requireoperational reliability and con-stant monitoring; breakdowns canhave serious financial conse-quences. BoosterpaQ systems helpensure reliable water supply with:

• Grundfos CR low-maintenance, high-efficiency pumps

• optional standby pumps• alarm functions

Large and rapid flow variationsoften place great demands onpressure boosting systems. TheBoosterpaQ Control 2000, com-bined with variable speed pumps, handles variations easily.

Digital remote control and a

multiple set-point program are justsome of the many functions whichmake BoosterpaQ systems ideallysuited to industry.

Standard AISI 316 stainlessmanifolds provide excellent corro-sion resistance. Optional CRNmodel pumps extend applicationcoverage to aggressive liquids.

Installation and operationThe in-line manifold design ofall BoosterpaQ systems makesinstallation and service user-friendly. With its advancedcontroller, the BoosterpaQ is simpleto operate.

Maintaining green spaces andcrops requires dependable irriga-tion, especially during the hottestmonths. Grundfos BoosterpaQhelps conserve water and electri-cal power while providing ade-quate and accurate coverage.BoosterpaQ makes it easy toadjust output quickly and efficiently.

Reliability can be criticalDepending upon the climate andseason, the need for reliablesupplies and for standby pumpsvary. A drop in pressure due tosystem failure is likely to causeplant or turf loss. GrundfosBoosterpaQ systems can providethe peace of mind you need.

Monitoring functions such asmaximum pressure limits safe-guard the distribution circuitagainst pipe damage and ensurethat the pre-set pressure limitcannot be exceeded. Optionalstandby capacity pumps, manualcontrol, and alarm options ensurepeace of mind.

Correct pressureLarge irrigation areas often requirepressure zones. Using a timerprogram, the BoosterpaQ cancontrol different pressure zones(set-point). This function ensurescorrect pressure and minimizesenergy costs.

There are no special requirementsfor a BoosterpaQ installationlocation. The compact designfacilitates installation very nearlyanywhere.
