(GSA) IN AUSTRIA & GERMANY
Volotea connects Vienna and Munich with six destinations in four European countries
Volotea seeks strong growth in German-speaking territories
Munich, Germany (17 July, 2017) AVIAREPS, the global leader in tourism, aviation and hospitality representation with 62 offices in 46 countries around the world, has been appointed by VOLOTEA, the European airline of mid and small‐sized cities, to represent the airline as General Sales Agent (GSA) in Austria and Germany.
The appointment, which came into effect from July 1, 2017, is the result of Volotea’s initiative to expand its market commitment and sales within the two markets. Today, Volotea flies directly from Vienna to Genoa, Marseille and Nantes and from Munich to Asturias, Bordeaux, Mykonos and Nantes. The appointment is part of Volotea’s mid-term ambitions to achieving strong increased demand and operations in both countries.
Volotea, well known within Europe as the airline that connects European regional capitals with direct flights at attractive prices, has added 40 new routes in 2017 to serve a total lineup of 243 routes, which include flights to 79
mid and small-sized European cities in 16 countries, including: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Israel, Albania, Moldova, Portugal, Malta, UK, Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg.

Since its launch in April 2012, Volotea has carried more than 12 million passengers across Europe, and expects to welcome on board 4.3 million passengers within 2017.

In 2017 Volotea added more than 40 new routes to serve a lineup of 243 routes, operating flights to 79 mid and small-sized European cities in 16 countries including: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Israel, Albania, Moldavia, Portugal, Malta, UK, Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg. Volotea expects to carry 4.3 million passengers in 2017.
Volotea has celebrated its fifth anniversary on April 5th 2017. In June, Volotea carried its 12-millionth passenger since its first flight in 2012.
Volotea currently operates from nine bases including: Venice, Nantes, Bordeaux, Palermo, Strasbourg, Asturias, Verona, Toulouse and Genoa, in which it is the market leader in all in terms of number of destinations serviced, (except in Toulouse). Volotea’s employees will number 875 after adding 150 new positions this year to capitalize its growth in activity.
In 2016 Volotea experienced a significant increase in its operations becoming the fastest growing large LCC in Europe. Volotea also closed 2016 with a client recommendation rate of 92.5% and became the fourth most punctual low cost airline in the world, ranking third in Europe. The airline has been selected by TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2017 as the best airline based in France, Italy and Spain in the “Europe Regional and Low Cost” category.
Volotea currently operates its network with 28 aircraft consisting of Boeing 717s and Airbus A319s. Both models are recognized for their comfort and reliability, with Volotea offering reclining seats which are 5% wider than the average in airlines. More than 40% of the flights scheduled in 2017 are expected to be operated by Airbus A319, which is the aircraft model selected for its future growth.
Volotea expects to become a 100% Airbus operator in the next few years, which will allow the company to increase its passenger capacity by 20%, from 125 seats to 150 seats, and to operate longer routes.
