    Living the DreamPerform for the Queen on Royal

    Commonwealth Day

    Living the Dream Performing Arts Company will beperforming for HRH Queen at Westminster Abbey

    On Commonwealth Day

    11th

    Dancers from the Living the Dream Performing Arts Company have been invited

    to perform for Her Majesty the Queen at Westminster Abbey on RoyalCommonwealth Day, Monday, 11th March. Over 50 dancers will take part in aperformance celebrating world music and the company will include dancers from

    Living the Dreams professional dance company, students from its school ofperforming arts, the Brit School and the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

    Every year, 54 countries join together in celebration of the links they share asmembers of one diverse and dynamic global family - the Commonwealth.

    In the UK, this special day is celebrated with a unique event in WestminsterAbbey coordinated by the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS). The UK's largest

    Majesty The Queen, the Prime Minister, High Commissioners, up to 200 otherVIPs and more than 1,000 schoolchildren.

    Richard Branson, Ricken Patel, Beverley Knight and the Noisettes will be presentalong with Living the Dream, to help launch the 2013 Commonwealth Theme

    Opportunity through Enterprise and through a mix of music, dance andpersonal testimonies, the event will celebrate economic innovation throughout

    the Commonwealth and a shared commitment towards youth, social andsustainable enterprise.

    Zoe Jackson, founder and director of Living the Dream, is an award winningyoung entrepreneur who is currently working with Richard Branson as an

    ambassador for Virgin Media Pioneers, a global network of young entrepreneurs.

    Background about Zoe Jackson and Living the Dream

    In 2006, at the age 16, Zoe Jacksonwas offered a place at the NationalYouth Theatre and to subsidise hercourse fees, she created aperforming arts company, Living the

    Dream. The company, now in itsfifth year, has grown and is made upof over 500 young people fromHertfordshire and London, aged 5-25

    who take part in showcases, flash-mobs, events, workshops, classes

    and after school clubs. Living theDream is completely unique in that itis run by young people for youngpeople. We are committed to

    supporting and developing youngpeople from all walks of life;therefore, we do not charge

    expensive fees.

    The ethos of Living the Dream is to provide a safe environment in which itsmembers can grow in talent, confidence and self-esteem, meet new people,

    discover new talents, work as a team and most of all to have fun! We havefound that our students respond extremely positively to working in a youth-ledenvironment, with more freedom to express themselves.

    By putting young peoples voices at the core of Living the Dreams creativeprocess, their sense of empowerment has raised their aspirations and madethem become more positive about their futures. As Living the Dream has grown,so too has our commitment to supporting and developing young people tobelieve in themselves and promote the positive contribution that they can makethrough the arts. Zoes passion is to inspire young people, provide a platform to

    showcase their talent and make them more positive about their futures and what

    they can achieve.

    The company has expanded to include a School of Performing Arts, Professional

    Dance Company, Media Company and dance wear brand.

    Zoe Jackson, Founder and Director of Living the Dream, is part of the Virgin

    Media Pioneers community and was recently selected by them to represent Sir

    Richard Branson's Control Shift Campaign as a spokesperson for young

    entrepreneurs, appearing on a platform with Vince Cable and meeting David

    Cameron. She played a key role in persuading the Government to launch the

    multi million pound Start Up Loans scheme announced in the Budget in March

    2012 and is now one of ten Young Ambassadors working with James Caan to

    promote the scheme.

    Last year, Zoe was awarded Shells Woman of the Future in Arts, Media andCulture and Future 100 Young Social Entrepreneurs. She was also awarded the

    Youth Achievement Award with the Universal Federation for Peace.
