In recent years, she issues “Multiple Spirits”, a bilingual queer art zine from/within Japan with critic/curator Mika Maruyama and projects the exhibition at Austrian Association of Women Artists (VBKÖ) "When It Waxes and Wanes”. Aya Momose reviews asymmetry between seeing and being seen or narrating and being narrated using video in a self-referential way and revelas fluctuation of subject and uncertainty of phonocen- trism to create the work which suggests strong and various ways of communication where sympa- thies with others idle and emerge. Recently she is working both in Japan and abroad as participat- ing in a residence program in New York with the grants from ACC and collaborated with IM Hung-soon for “Exchange Diary” which was officially selected to Jeonju International Film Festival. In this exhibition, Endo and Momose who has been approached the issues of acting and physical- ness, gaze and desire, and gender and sexuality from various angles for many times will present their collaboration work addressing “ideal sex organ” as one of the key words. Taking the stiffness out of masculine discourse and consisting of light chatting or transformation as its axis, the exhibi- tion practices the new state of gender which cannot split into two parts such as man and women or nature and artifact. Excerpt from “The Dildo as an Essay on Becoming While Creating”

“As the tradition of heterosexual sex and sexuality continues to be strengthened, it is necessary to imagine different bodies and sexualities that could be reconstructed through the dildo in conjunc-tion with all sorts of creative acts of writing, reading, forming, displaying and sharing. The dildo can be used to design a world that these bodies can live.

...The dildo is something that can be created, and it can be placed anywhere on our bodies. The dildo-body boundary is forgotten through its connections and disconnections, becoming a part of our organs. Without the border between nature and artefact, the dildo unites with our bodies to create pleasure and desire. The dildo belongs to us, our organs, desires and pleasures, yet contin-ues to be foreign to us, threatening our boundaries. Our bodies are being appropriated. Our bodies may already be the dildo.”

(”The Dildo as an Essay on Becoming While Creating” Mika Maruyama (2020) )
