    of Contemporary Music (New York City/USA) for the IMW2013.The ARChive of Contemporary Music (ARC) launches on 6 th October2013 the India Music Week (IMW). In collaboration with ColumbiaLibraries at Columbia University, and with the support of FoundingPartners Gracenote, Incredible Labs, and the Internet Archive (IA),ARC will lead an online project to celebrate Indian music and culturefrom 6th till 13th October, 2013.

    IMW2013 will be an online project to present, promote and explore therich cultural heritage of Indian music of the past, present and future.IMW will offer videos, histories, seminars, concerts, lectures, soundfiles, sheet music, broadcasts, narrowcasts, album cover art galleries,

    essays, blogs, photos and links all highlighting the importance andbeauty of Indian music as well as educate a global audience about it'smany genres and facets. Building on an existing collection of morethan 5,000 Indian recordings ARC has catalogued 25,000 AsianIndian recordings issued domestically and from around the world, withthe help of Gracenote. This database will be one of the largest onlinereference tools on the web, freely available to all. ARC has alreadycreated links to more than 3,500 related music industry and academicsites, as well as contacts to more than 4,000 artists.

    The INDIA MUSIC WEEK 2013 will be delivered by IMCRadio.Netwith special features around the topic sound (Sanskrit: Nada = flow).

    In 2012 was set up the SABN (South Asian Broadcasting Network) toexpand the media coverage. With SABN an international audiencecan be reached for the INDIA MUSIC WEEK (http://www.imcradio.net/sabn).

    ARC & IMC (Short) Profiles:The ARC now is in its 28th year. The ARChive of Contemporary Music is the largestcollection of popular music in the world, with more than two million popular musicrecordings. It is supported by a Board of Advisors comprised of leading musicians,songwriters and directors, including David Bowie, Jellybean Benitez, Jonathan Demme,Michael Feinstein, Youssou N'Dour, Lou Reed, Keith Richards, Nile Rodgers, ToddRundgren, Fred Schneider, Martin Scorsese, Paul Simon and Mike Stoller.

    The promotion initiative IMC - India meets Classic was founded in 2005 (in Hanseatic CityHamburg) to promote an inter-cultural dialogue between India/South Asia and Europe. InMarch 2006 started the monthly radio broadcasting for Indian Music Culture (seehttp://www.imcradio.net/shortprofile). Since 2011 the radio shows are broadcasted inAustria, Switzerland and Germany and worldwide as webradio(http://www.imcradio.net/broadcasting/est). Till today more than 100 uniquelybroadcasting hours have been produced.
