NEW ON-LINE NEWSLETTER LAUNCHED FOR KERRY LGBT COMMUNITY Ciarrai Amach, the Kerry LGBT Project that supports 150 lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people across Kerry has launched its first community newsletter this week. The new initiative is being supported by North and East Kerry Development. The aim of the newsletter is to reach out to all LGBT people and their friends about the huge range of activities and support being offered by Ciarrai Amach. This includes organising and hosting a LGBT Equality Conference in November, monthly social walks every second Sunday in the month, a bowling night in Tralee every two months, a regular running club, a regular book club and a monthly support group in Killarney meets the fourth Friday of every month. The voluntary organisation is also setting up a befriending service, producing a fund-raising calendar for 2012 and is hosting a quiz night and disco at The Strand Hotel, Inch on Saturday 6th August. "The new quarterly newsletter will hopefully be seen on your local community and Family Resource Centre notice boards, in libraries and various establishments around Kerry. Most importantly, you can also view it on-line if you google ciarrai amach.org where you will also find more information and help should you need it," said Castlemaine based Martin Greenwood, Community Development Worker and volunteer with the project. The voluntary organisation receives no core funding, has no drop-in or office facility but has a dedicated team of trained and experienced volunteers. Please contact the Project number on 086 078 8260 should you require further information or visit their web site.
