As a young man, Bobby Haisten was fascinated with the rich history that the
south had to offer. He took a special interest in farming and agriculture since his family
had owned and operated farms for more than 100 years.
It wasn’t the actual crop production itself that interested Haisten; it was the role a
farmer played in small, southern communities.
“Back in those days famers served as leaders of the community,” said Haisten.
They were the caretakers and made sure that the town was in good shape. They were the
ones who were feeding the people and giving to the community.”
These are the principles and ideas that drive the Old Main Clothiers mission.
Haisten has taken these classic notions of community responsibility and support and
created a modern-day plan for the city of Auburn.
Haisten was born and raised in Prattville, Ala. He is a student at Auburn
University currently earning a degree in building science studies. He and his wife Emily
Haisten live on Samford Avenue where the Old Main Clothiers office is currently
located.

P.2 Old Main Founder
While Old Main Clothiers has become his main focus, Haisten has already given
much of his time to Auburn University and the city itself. He serves as the vice president
of the Plainsman and holds chair as a board member of the Auburn Preservation League.
Haisten believes that Old Main Clothiers will be a much greater challenge in
community outreach when compared to his previous work. Those who know him best
belief in him and the success of the project.
Bobby Dees, president of the Auburn Preservation League, has worked with
Haisten over the last three years.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am about Bobby’s new business,” said Dees. “He
loves this town so much, and it is great to see young people like him playing such a
crucial role in community development and outreach.”
The success of Haisten’s latest project has yet to be seen, but those know him best
believe in his efforts.
Old Main Clothiers will be hosting a banquet to celebrate its first line of clothing

clothing products to the public. A special banquet will be held at the Pebble Hill house in
Auburn and will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15.
The founders of Old Main Clothiers, Bobby James Hasiten and Rob Silverii, will
be hosting the special event. Both are Auburn students earning degrees in building
science.
The banquet will consist of a meet and greet with the founders followed by
dinner. Haisten and Silverii will then be presenting the first line of products while
explaining their passion for the project and their vision for the future.
The purpose of the event is to not only show off a new line of clothing, but to gain
the support of the community that has inspired its creation. Old Main Clothiers was
crafted with spirit of the city in mind, past and present.

as well as the importance of local businesses and what they can do for the community.
Haisten is an active member of the Auburn Preservation League and has been
committed to preserving the historical sites of Auburn for over three years. His work
with the city has inspired those around him and ultimately fueled the birth of Old Main
Clothiers.
“Old Main was inspired by the city’s rich, southern history,” said Haisten. “There
was a time here in the city where men and women could enjoy their work and look after
their neighbor. It was a time when quality clothing was produced and priced for the
people. It was a time when the city bought local, and the community thrived because of
it.”
The banquet is being sponsored by “Garden and Gun,” a southern-lifestyle
magazine, and Good People Brewery of Birmingham, Ala. The Auburn Preservation
League has donated the facility for the banquet.
Old Main Clothiers is a unique business whose products are crafted with the local
community in mind. While striving to provide quality clothing at a reasonable price, Old
Main wants to preserve the heritage of the city and promote the healthy growth of small
community. In times of need, we must look to our community and neighbors as those
before us have done for so long.

AUBURN, Ala. (Dec. 2) – For the past two months, Old Main Clothiers has been
drawing statewide attention in Alabama. The small business built on community and
tradition is presenting its first line of products to the public and has the south talking.
Founders Bobby Haisten and Rob Silverii created Old Main Clothiers in order to
help the town of Auburn through historic preservation and community outreach. Its
home office is in a small residential house in the middle of Auburn.
Through sales and fundraising, Old Main hopes to stimulate the small community
as hard times continue to plague small towns everywhere. The recent economic struggles
of our country have hurt the small, local businesses the most. Old Main hopes to provide
its own type of bailout during these hard times.
“All you hear about on the news these days is economic troubles and bailouts,”
said Silverii. “Our local, small businesses will be receiving no such thing and we have
decided to do something about it.”

guide. They believe that a local business should not only serve as retail space, but a
caretaker for the community.
All profits excluding operational costs will be invested in numerous community
projects. Old Main will work with Auburn’s citizens and government to create the most
beneficial programs.
