To Members of the Press:
We are to celebrate the opening of 29th TIFF with our special guests. If you wish to cover the opening events including Opening Red Carpet, Opening Ceremony and International Competition Jury Press Conference, please submit a pre-application form by October 24 (Mon) 12:00 (Japan Time). Guest for the Opening Red Carpet will be announced on October 19 (Wed).
October 25 (Tuesday) Red Carpet & Opening Ceremony
Photographers need to choose either covering the Red Carpet or Opening Ceremony.
- Opening Red Carpet @Roppongi Hills Arena OR
- Opening Ceremony @EX Theater Roppongi
*Press members who will shoot by smartphone, cell phone and tablet media, are not allowed to enter the
photographers’ area.
Journalists need to choose from below.
- Opening Red Carpet @Roppongi Hills Arena OR
- Live Feed: Red Carpet & Ceremony @ Tower Hall, Academyhills 49F
* All members of the media covering the opening events must be properly attired. Jacket required for men.
Please note the International Competition Jury Press Conference will be held at TOHO Cinemas
Roppongi after the Opening ceremony. (Please refer to below for more details.)

Confirmations and Requirements * Shooting positions for all photographers and journalists will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. * Due to its limited spaces, not all requests can be met. * Please bring your own stepstool in case your position sets behind the row. * You cannot change your position during the event. To cover/shoot additional points, please assign a different crew member for each point. * All members of the media covering the opening events must be properly attired. Jacket required for men.
