Helghyer makes pretty music. Music that tells stories. Music that makes you want to walk barefoot through the woods with your hair billowing in the breeze. Music that makes you think that maybe, just maybe... magic really could exist. Bio: Helghyer (Pronounced Hell-hear) is the solo project of multi- instrumentalist Natalie Earl. Her debut EP 'The Mage, The Wiseman and The Lioness: Part 1' was released in June 2013 and received airplay from both sides of the Atlantic including Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape on BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing Berkshire. Her quirky art-rock/indie-folk sound, (influenced by Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Pixies, Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel etc) has been described as “a cross between Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush ” and “Tolkien-esque” with “stunningly precise harmonies ”, and intertwining guitar lines that create a perfectly decorated sound-scape. ” She is of Cornish descent and the name ‘Helghyer’ comes from the Cornish word for "Hunter," Helghyer toured extensively throughout 2013, visiting Leeds, Manchester, Bristol and London amongst others and her debut single 'Broken the Spell' was released last August with an accompanying animated video made with a cardboard box, 4 peg dolls and 20 glue gun sticks.
