…..Well!...Well!…Well?...Oh boy! …Unbelievable! Really? You have got to be kidding! I guess it could be worse? Yeah? Maybe! Sorry, just my brain trying to adjust to the situation. About thirteen years ago I had to put together a time capsule for a cornerstone in the new addition at St. Leonard’s. I wrote a letter for it giving my predictions for the future. Thank God I will be dead when it is read. I can hear the laughter ringing back from the future readers – prescient I am not. I certainly was living in a fool’s paradise concerning this latest election. I hate to say it, but life goes on and I will be back to listening to the news only through the Daily Show. Jon Stewart, where are you? Of course, the best response is for us to continue to do what we always do here: stay in- formed and try to be effective and do what is best for the common good. We made it through the Nienstedt years so we can certainly make it through the next four years. What the election does remind me of, more than anything else, is that there is no promise that making progress is guaranteed. We have made great strides in racial and gender equality and we need to make sure these continue to be fought for and respected. Some may think this week’s apocalyptic Gospel about the times is appropriate. I’m not quite that melodramatic, even if I feel that way, but Jesus’ challenge rings through. Have faith, keep up the work and follow through. Peace is integrity of heart before adversity. Presider: Fr. James Cassidy will pre- side and speak on the work of Arm in Arm in Africa, a Sustaining Partner or- ganization of the SJA Outreach Fund. A second collection will be taken to benefit this powerful ministry. We welcome T Mychael Rambo, Twin Cities accomplished actor, singer, educa- tor, community organizer...and to that list we are also proud to add that he is an old friend of SJA as well as a board member of Arm and Arm in Africa. Thank you for all you do for our community! Father Jim DeBruycker will speak to us about the Gospel. Join us in the church at 9:45 or 11:45 am for our joyful, child- centered Masses! The Sunday Morning Registration and Information Office is located in the Parish Center. In the office you may register to become a SJA parishioner, get program information, sign up for a program, and register to volunteer. The office is open after both of our Sunday morning liturgies. Parking: Be considerate of our neighbors and their property. Please don’t block driveways or park in their on-street handicapped areas. Thank you! Consider Carpooling or Riding the City Bus to Church: Go to metrotransit.org for more information. Thank you!

In this season of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the opportunity that we have to continue to make a difference in our world. I am honored to share the story of the two loves of my life; the community of

SJA and our brothers and sisters in South Africa. Today, we have the opportunity to offer our financial commitment to the seventeen year mission of our Sustaining Partner, Arm In Arm In Africa. I will be providing an overview of our ongoing ministries and updating you with some of our more urgent challenges and opportunities. There will be a second collection at all of our masses to support our ongoing efforts in education, food distribution and health care. Your contribution to Arm In Arm In Africa, a 501(C3), is completely tax deductible. You may prefer to make your contribution online at www.aiaia.org, or to receive an envelope from one of our AIAIA volunteers for mailing at your convenience. Thank you for choos-ing Arm In Arm In Africa as one of your end of the year charitable contributions. In gratitude for your ongoing support, Fr. James Cassidy
