While our Ford show hasn’t produced a lot of funds for the club in the last few years, I stress that it is imperative that the club work to- wards making a significant amount of money on this year’s show. How can that be done? Talk to Doug Heeren, and see what you can do to help him put on a great show. The more sponsors for the trophies the better the balance sheet will be when it is over. The board has decided to raffle a pedal car this year. Details will be forthcoming. I can’t help but think that a pedal car would be just the thing for a gift to the grandchild of you and/or many of your friends. It could also make you the favorite because you have a pedal car that they can play in when they come to visit. With support from all club members, this should be a great fundraiser. Well, another year is upon us, and the board has begun

planning for social activities and driving tours. Anyone who has an idea on where or what

might be interesting, please feel free to speak to me and we shall see what we can do.

I have several volunteer po-sitions open, and I hope that mem-bers can see their way to accepting

various positions as I call on you. Look in the activities section of the newsletter and mark the vari-

ous activities down in your calen-dars. We have 15-16 couples signed up to go to Kearney for the Lincoln

Highway Tour this June. I can’t wait for this trip. I am looking forward to seeing the cars come in from New

York and California as well as the cars at the Show and Shine. Greg is working at getting us in to at least

one private car collection in the ar-ea. This club requires money to

operate. While our Ford show hasn’t produced a lot of funds for the club in the last few years, I stress that it

is imperative that the club work to-

wards making a significant amount

of money on this year’s show. How can that be done? Talk to Doug Heeren, and see what you can do to help him put on a great show. The

more sponsors for the trophies the better the balance sheet will be when it is over. The more cars that

come in and pay the registration fee, the better the balance sheet. The new location is in the Westwood Pla-

za at 122nd and Center Street. As we get closer to the time, please think of friends and acquaintances

who have Ford’s and encourage them to bring them to the show. Wouldn’t it be exciting to have 150-

200 Fords come to the show. The board has decided to raffle a pedal car this year. Details

will be forthcoming. I can’t help but think that a pedal car would be just the thing for a gift to the grandchild

of you and/or many of your friends. It could also make you the favorite because you have a pedal car that

they can play in when they come to visit. With support from all club members, this should be a great

fundraiser. Let’s have a great year!

Loft Theater Yesterday and Today April 21, 2013

Billy McGuigan presents his amazing tribute to music of The Beatles. Rekin-

dle the spirit of yesterday through the music of the world’s most popular band. Yesterday and Today will have you twisting and shouting in the aisles while singing every word to the songs you know and love.

Annual Banquet Sixty plus members met at Anthony’s Steakhouse on January 12th for the annual banquet. It was the best one that I have been to, and it appeared to me that all were having a good time. We have reserved a room

for next year. What a riot to do the gift exchange like we do. Don Graves did his usual excellent job in hand-ing out awards. Now if he could just get Bob McKinney to remember to use his book when he is around Doug, Greg and/or Dale.

Bunko

On January 26th the weather co-

operated, and we had a great

turn out at our Bunko and Soup

night. Thirty-five people enjoyed

a meal consisting of nine soups,

several just baked home-made

breads, fresh veggies , a cranber-

ry salad and lots of delicious

desserts to choose from. It was a good thing that the fast moving and action

packed Bunko followed to keep the full bodies from finding a lounge chair and tak-

ing a nap. At nine o’clock the dice were turned in and prizes were awarded. It

was an enjoyable evening of

food and fun

Tony, it really is OK to eat the soup.

March 17th - Bowling

Reserve March 17th for an afternoon of bowling. Cost will be $5.00 per person and includes 3 lanes and shoe rental. If it has been a while, that is

OK. Bob McKinney is organizing a bowing afternoon from 1 - 3:00 pm at the Wildcat Lanes, 1201 Royal Dr,

Papillion. Everybody is welcome so please feel free to

bring kids, grandkids, and assorted other family mem-bers and friends with a Model A interest. Sign up will be available at the banquet and the February and March

general meetings.

At the Orange City, Iowa Tulip Festival

Plans are being made for a road trip to Orange City, Iowa for their annual Tulip Festival. Tentative plans

are to leave town on Friday, May 17th afternoon and drive to LeMars for the night. Once in LeMars, we can dine at Bob’s Dogs Drive Inn (http://www.bobsdriveinn.com/) and then go to Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor (http://www.wellsenterprisesinc.com/Parlor-Museum/Default.aspx) for dessert.

Saturday morning, we will leave LeMars and journey up to Orange City to see the sights of the festival (http://www.octulipfestival.com/) and, hopefully, lots of tulips. Then, it’s back to LeMars for the night. That evening, we will go to Archie’s Waeside (http://www.archieswaeside.com/ordereze/default.aspx)

for the best of the best. If we have any room for dessert, guess where we will go? Sunday morning, we will leave LeMars for Sioux City and stop at the Milwaukee Railroad Shops and their

historic museum (http://www.milwaukeerailroadshops.org/ ). Then, back to Omaha.

Motel rooms are being reserved in LeMars at very reasonable rates. We will need to claim those reserva-

tions ASAP because of the tulip festival popularity. Members without running Model A’s are welcome to

take part in this trip in modern iron. If you are interested in this road trip, sign up at the meeting or call

Don & Janet Graves (402-453-7166).

Radiator Tech Talk February 9, 2013

Don Graves will bring an exploded/cut up radiator so that we can see how it works and where we run

into issues with our radiators.

Model A’s For Sale 1930 Deluxe Roadster. Restored many years ago, but still presentable. Does have a rebuilt en-

1931 Leatherback Victoria, older restoration, still looks good. Also has a rebuilt engine with very few hours of drive time.
