Presidents Assembly Steering Committee is responsible for: •Serving as “voice of the chapters” on the National Board and facilitating communications between National and the chapters

•Facilitating chapter collaboration/information sharing via webinars

•Creating a community of chapter leaders

•Helping chapter leaders with strategic planning, problem resolution, etc.

10,000 Small Businesses Program

Program provides free educational programs at local colleges as well as access to capital for small business owners.

NAWBO is looking to partner with Goldman Sachs. •Eligible businesses include:

– annual revenues between $150,000 and $4 million– in operation for at least two years– at least 4 full-time employees– operations in economically disadvantaged areas

•Looking to expand to new cities. Currently in Chicago, Houston, Long Beach, Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York.

• Please send in your applications in a timely fashion.

• If you delay sending in applications renewal dates are when the national office receives the application not when you receive the application. This could mean you receive renewal income later!

• Improve cash flow by sending applications quickly!!

• AuctionMaestro Pro - This is the software we use to manage many components of the auction process. Some things that are handled by the software:

– list of people/companies that attend, sponsor and/or donate to the auction– inventory (donated items) tracking– forms (letters, certificates, bid sheets, receipts, program booklet)– financial tracking and reporting

TUCSON SILENT AUCTION JOB DESCRIPTION SAMPLE

• Wanted: 2-3 tech comfortable people to learn the software and use the software to create/track/manage various types of information.

• Sponsorships - work with to secure sponsors for this event.•  Acquisitions/Procurement - Collect cool stuff!! Manage the

solicitation and collection of auction items; communicate with potential and actual donors (letters and thank yous)

•  Inventory/Storage - Keep track of the cool stuff!! Manage auction items as they arrive; work with software team to track donations; help move items to storage area (if available); prepare items for silent auction team to display

•  Audience Development - Recruit those bidders!! Work with the Marketing Activity Group to prepare materials and communications about the event at NAWBO functions: mixers, breakfasts, luncheons, etc. Prepare and manage eblasts, Vista articles, etc. announcing the Holiday Auction details.

• Silent Auction - Facilitate organization of donations into specific auctions; organize set up crew and manage display of items; prepare item identifiers for auction day

• Budget and Accounting - Keep track of the money!! • Decorations/Center Pieces - Be creative!! Help augment the

holiday decorations at our venue to make the setting special.• Facilities/Food/Bar - Work with our chosen venue to develop a

menu, set up the bar, determine other items as needed (table cloth/napkin colors, available set up times, etc.)
