President’s message:

Namaskar AHP members, children, parents, teachers, volunteers and friends!

First, thank you all for the contributions and engagement

in various school and AHP events. It has been exciting 6

months full of school activities including celebrating

Diwali, Christmas and Republic Day. On the other hand,

the Diwali celebration event was a huge success with your

support.

Kudos to the school principal, teachers and assistant

teachers for the development of class focused syllabus,

which is making the classes more practical and enjoyable for the kids. We are

excited to announce the revival of the Hindi library for children as well as parents.

Now, the classes will have scheduled time in the library by rotation to maximize

the usage of available resources.

We look forward to your continued support for the upcoming events at the school

as well as by the AHP Board.

Requesting Volunteers at the Casino

Alberta Hindi Parishad (AHP) has an upcoming Casino

Fundraiser on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 at

Argyll Casino (7053 Argyll Road NW). By providing

volunteers for the two days AHP receives funds from

Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) every two

years. These funds go a long way towards running the

school, paying the teachers and maintain the building and

meeting administrative expenses.

This is an opportunity to contribute towards the school by

volunteering for Casino duties. To find out more details call:

Update from Rohit Sati, V.P Program

AHP celebrated festival of lights “Diwali” in a grand style in November 2019. It

was a successful event. With the support from sponsors we managed to make

some gains, the AHP general account was credited approx. $5000.00. This money

will be used to promote future AHP events and functions and will also support

Hindi School. We have uploaded pictures on our AHP facebook page!

Our next big event is Holi:

Let’s Play Holi”…..that’s our theme for the holi

event this year. The festival of Holi is all about

embracing the traditional way of celebration:

some thandai, meetha paan dance, fun and a

“holi”some meal. Yes, we got this for you and it

will for sure bring the holi wali feeling. It’s not

over yet! In last hour we have plans to play dry

holi with Abeer and Gulaal. Please wear

appropriately. For those interested to play holi,

we have a designated area to play and enjoy

holi. We hereby request our members to join us

to celebrate the holi event to be held on March

13th 2020 at the Mirage Banquets.

Update from Chitra Omkar, V.P School:

Hindi School has created a tremendous amount of

memories with every event we celebrated with our

students. So far, we have celebrated Hindi Diwas, Diwali,

Christmas, Republic day and Holi with lots of enthusiasm,

and there is more to come. It is so nice to see students’

wonderful performances, where they use Hindi language

to the best of their abilities. We are also very excited

about our new Library program for Hindi School students.

The School has a wide collection of books (fiction,

nonfiction and graphic novels). With this new system,

students & parents can access literature for their pleasure

and learning purposes. Our school is very grateful to all

the parents who support their kids with language learning

at home. We thank you for your continuous support!
