Several pictures on the next two pages will either show you what you missed or remind you of what you wit- nessed. A huge thank you to Frank Kimmel for sharing his F4-U Corsair with us and that spectacular arrival. He was so gracious to invite us to “Climb all over it”. Also Last Month Your president and I were blessed to visit the National Air Force Museum for the 70th Reunion of the Doolittle Raid, featuring 4 of the 5 re- maining members of the 80 man and 16 B-25 mission. The pictures are not the best as I didn’t want to subject the men to unnecessary flash. As you will see by the small amount of pictures I posted here, the mu- seum is rather dark and flash was most definitely needed. See pages 5, 6 & 7. This Month Please join us at our next meeting this Thursday on the 10th for a meal and very spe- cial guests. We are blessed to have Capt. Lew Lockhart, P- 38 driver in the Pacific and Wallace Hite, son of Robert Hite, Co-Pilot of #16 Doolittle Raider mission. Please RSVP. Editor’s Words By: Gary Piper

I can’t believe how fast time is charging on by. It feels like I just com-pleted the April Newsletter. I sure would like to get some newsletter ma-terial from you, even if it’s a picture of you sitting in your hangar enjoy-ing being at the airport. Take a camera with you to a breakfast. Sneak a picture of your buddy all contorted as he/she tightens something up on his/her plane. Remember, if it tickles or interests you, it will most like do the same for someone else if you share it with the chapter. C’mon now, send me something.

Don’t forget, the Great Tennessee Air Show is this weekend at Smyrna. Blue Angels will be there along with an entire airshow lineup. I’ll see ya there. Oh yeah, and the NOTAM for today in Nashville. Your old buddy Joe Biden will be here along with Blackhawks and F-16s. You don’t want to miss that. We held the TN Aeronautics Art Contest Awards ceremony at the Baugh hangar this Saturday and flew the winners and their families. Thanks to John and Deborah Baugh for hosting, Dan Allen, Mike (Big foot) Russell and Chuck Johnston for piloting, and Randy and Melinda Hooper for working ground crew. OK. I think I finally ran out of things to say. Let’s fly Feel free to contact me anytime. 615.480.6471 [email protected] 113 West Ridge Dr, Hendersonville, TN 37075
