They did a fabulous job and I know that every single of one of my students was en- thralled for an entire hour, clinging on ev- ery word and motion [they] made. Because of this wonderful presentation, we absolutely cannot wait until our field trip.” – Melissa Heenan, Meadowland Elementary, Sterling, Virginia “If my 7-year-old daughter says that a history museum is fun, you know you’re doing a great job! The history of our nation is more than just a collection of names, dates, and places…it is the lives and experiences of those who made history. At Jamestown Settlement and the Yorktown Victory Center, visitors experience history firsthand through engaging galleries, and re-created outdoor areas where our nation’s history is something you can see, hear, and touch!

Shaping the Future The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an educational agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, has a unique mission to raise the awareness and foster an

understanding of the enduring legacies that Jamestown and Yorktown have bequeathed to our nation. We accomplish this mission in many ways: by acquiring and preserving artifacts for our galleries, operating our living-history interpretive sites, and conducting hands-on educational programming at our museums and in classrooms throughout Virginia.

The Annual Fund is an important part of these ongoing endeavors. Gifts to the Annual Fund support our on-site, interpretive, outreach, and special-event programming. As a donor to the Annual Fund, you can take pride in your support of our educational mission to shape the future by preserving the past.
