Peter Hotez, M.D., Ph.D. is an internationally recognized physician-scientist in neglected tropical diseases and vaccine development. He is professor of pediatrics and Molecular Virology and Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine and founding Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine. Currently, his lab is leading the coronavirus vaccine efforts. Named by Fortune Magazine as one of the most influential people in health care, he is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Hotez will discuss Vaccine Diplomacy in the 21 st Century.His most recent books include Vaccines Did Not Cause Rachel’s Autism--My Journey as a Vaccine Scientist, Pediatrician, and Autism Dad (2018) and Blue Marble Health: An Innovative Plan to Fight Diseases of the Poor amid Wealth (2016).

Testimonial: Clfford L. Fry, Ph.D. is Associate Director of the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study at Texas A & M University. Dr. Fry’s daughter was one of the first children diagnosed with Rett syndrome by Dr. Huda Zoghbi at Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Fry has devoted years of service to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, as a board member, regional representative for Texas, and as chairman of the Family Empowerment Board of rettsyndrome.org. His talk will be about TheBlue Bird Circle and Rett Syndrome: A Family’s Journey.
