The district is piloting a 1:1 iPad program in the 6th and 7th grades. These students will have the opportunity to receive a district

issued iPad for use both at school and at home for the entire school year.

What is a performance What is a performance task? Performance tasks are extended activities that measure a student’s ability to integrate knowledge and skills across multiple standards—a key component of college and career readiness. Performance tasks will be used to better measure capacities such as depth of understanding, research skills, and complex analysis, which cannot be adequately assessed with selected- or constructed-response items. Some performance tasks can be scored automatically; many will be hand-scored by professionally trained readers.

PROPER IPAD CARE Keep food and liquid away from the iPad.

Keep the school provided case, or a district approved case, on the iPad at all times.

Do not set anything heavy on the iPad.

Clean with a soft, dry, lint free cloth.

Defacing the iPad is prohibited (stickers, markers, etc.)

Do not expose iPad to temperature extremes; don't leave the iPad in a car.

Use only your finger or an iPad designed stylus on the iPad.

Treat your iPad with care at all times, do not throw or slide the iPad.

If your iPad is lost, stolen, or damaged notify your teacher, principal, or technology department immediately.

SOME STEPS WE CAN REDUCE RADIO FREQUENCY EXPOSURE

Turn off the wireless transmitters when not needed. You can reduce radio frequency exposure by keeping your iPad on Airplane Mode as much as possible and switching off the Wi-Fi and 3G transmitters. Doing so still allows access to much of your music, movies, apps, and games. 

Keep in MUSD issued case that reduces radiation exposure.

Use a stand. 

Keep it away from the body. Home button is facing downward or to the side, which keeps antenna pointing away from the user.

Power down your wireless devices when not in use. If you don’t need it, you’re not missing anything by taking those few extra seconds to turn it off.

Apague los transmisores inalámbricos cuando no se necesita.
